Found this thread and started reading how good it was going. So I checked their website out and saw they pay .38cpm. How can you be driving for that cheap???

As I am sure you know, CPM is only one component of a total benefits package which is in itself a mix of both financial and non financial components... Most of us are fairly happy here so they must be doing something right... LOL

But thank you for your opinion and good luck with whomever you drive for at the moment.

So... A few of us have been commenting about the miles lately... Myself included... But I just wanted to toss out there that once again Abilene came through ... As mentioned, had Home Time scheduled in IL this weekend with a few appointments surrounding it...

Now I have been frustrated a few times about how home time turned out or didnt... And it's trucking and we all know we must be flexible blah blah blah...

But they went the extra mile for me today...

I sat around in London, KY after dropping the rescued Walmart load late last night... Wondering if I needed to start making last minute calls to reschedule stuff. I know they were working on it so no need to text and call and bug them... So ok, no loads going where I need to go. Ugh.

But, they asked me if I wanted to just drive there without a load... Now everyone would have preferred to be under load to IL but ok... Now since I'm not under load, I doubt I get the miles paid BUT they got me where I needed to be.... And allowed me to drive the truck there too....

No one is making money today.

I am just thankful that they even considered that as an option today... I may not have made money driving today but the company basically took the hit to get me here.

    For that, I say thanks.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

Taking a risk here to say "Emergency"???
If it's not that, I might need to phone a friend.

Carson fire station 127 was the station used in the 70'sTV series "EMERGENCY!" produced by Jack Webb. It posed as Station 51, that housed Engine and Squad 51. The show highlighted the fledgling Paramedic program in California. Station 127 has changed little from the show. It doesn't house a Squad, but it houses an Engine and Arial Truck because of the massive amount of industry in the area. All firefighters must be certified minimum EMT. EMT-P is preferred.

LA County Fire Department later established Station 51 inside Paramount Studios where modern versions of Engine and Squad 51 operate.

Both Engine 51's and a Squad 51 have been painstakingly restored and are on display at the LA Fire Museum.

I can only dream that we'll have the time and ability to visit the museum. We will drive by Station 127.

Volunteer firefighting is another activity I dearly miss. A fire engine was my first truck driving experience. Back in the early 90's to 2005, when the knees just couldn't handle the strain anymore. My last call was a house fire. After 4 hours on my feet at the pump panel, after the fire was tapped and the endorphins died down, I collapsed as my knees just gave out. I had to be helped up and to the tailboard to recover. I had issues walking for about a week there after.

I have to keep a cane close by for when I have issues. Sucks, but I really can't complain. I've been able to do things many have only dreamed of.

Like waiting over an hour and a half at BH for my trailer to be loaded. o_O
