Y'all ready for my WTH is dispatch thinking moments for the last 3 days?

First one-sitting in Danville early Tuesday afternoon waiting for Wednesday 11 am delivery and get my next load assignment. Pick up in Wytheville at the very same 11 am (2 1/2-3 hrs away) and deliver in Berea KY at 6 pm on Wednesday. No way that's happening. So they took me off that and gave me a mty move to Richmond.

Second one-delivering world market in Nashville right now. 4 pm appt. 5 pm they just started unloading me. Now for the good part. Got a preplan (imagine that!) to pick up in Jackson TN 120 miles away at 6 pm. Umm, not happening, so I called the shipper to see if it was strict appt or flexible. Seems 6 pm is the last spot for the day and tomorrow is booked solid so if I'm a work in, I will be sitting. Let the powers that be know and waited to hear back. I had to call back (again, imagine that) and was told "Just go there in the morning and they will load you first thing." Oh, suurree, the supervisor that told me they were booked doesn't know what he's talking about, but being a good little truck driver, I'll be there when my 10 is up. It doesn't deliver until Tuesday in Front Royal so I'm sure I'll be dropping in Wytheville and have a blast in the Gatorade loop all weekend. But, it's miles so can't complain.

He'll be here soon, I speak to him everyday, multiple times per day. Right now he's headed to Atlanta to pick up.

Just finished our 4600 mile 6 drop load that started last Thursday and finally ended today. Dropped our empty in Colton, hooked a loaded one that delivers in Patterson Ca in the morning, then have to go down to Arvin Ca and get a load of carrots going to Springfield Ohio for Wednesday. We will be dropping it at our drop yard in Springfield Monday morning. Right now Ray is driving through Hesperia and I'm eating.

Made a hp delivery at a Walmart in tx few nights ago.So I get there for my 700 apt, fill a couple people moving around, come 800 I walk in only had 4 coolers should be done I'm thinking, nope haven't even started.By this time I have another pu in Irving so need to get rolling, told them I would unload,so 845,I have 1 cooler left, and here comes the guy from hp,crew should be here by 900 and walks off lol,and on top of it Walmart loses the paperwork.

So I get over to Irving at us express, and one of there drivers made a left out the entrance on a one way, when they relised made a mistake tried to make a uturn on the service road and got stuck, sat in that for a half hour made for a long night.

Yea, I just love those multiple HPX drops. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. Detention pay is good, tho.

Still waiting in Groveport for my trailer to get loaded. As BH obviously subscribes to the same communication policy that Abilene does, it's probably been ready, but the office doesn't know it yet.

Are we allowed to unload coolers?. I heard from a couple drivers that we should never do it, driver got fired when the cooler he unloaded got damaged etc.

I have been told by HPX to not touch the coolers at all. They are supposedly to be handled by "highly trained" techs at the job site. The fact that I an a certified tech for them matterso not. They told me that as I am driving now, I am "just" a driver, and they honor Abilene's no touch freight.

    Finfn1372 and Redtwin Thank this.
