"Now, I am NOT saying this is your case but, if a driver is not performing duringthose six days, stopping early, notrunning a full 11 while they have themiles, running only daylight, needing tohave loads rescued because of poorplanning, refusing loads that they don'tlike or don't want, etc... then maybe acase could be made as to why the home time is not being granted".

    @MidWest_MacDaddy
That is by far the craziest thing I ever heard or read performance has nothing to do with hometime and if you believe that then honestly drinking too much kool-aid I read every post on here been following @JohnBoy since Calex so I read but don't say much but seriously come on.

Worked for many companies in my life but I have never seen the "honor system" as it relates to time off... LOL ... But I obviously have not worked at every company... So I will take your word that there are many out there. ;-)

As to difficulty, I was implying that it might be difficult "at this company"... I have seen a number of things here that seem to be more difficult here than other places. (i.e. Driver Referrals ... lol)

Not saying it's right or impossible... :)

And yes, driving a truck is much easier than juggling 30+ sets of books and doing 30+ internal audits... I won't deny. :)

(Yes, I took it as a joke but thanks for clarifying)

I said "maybe a case could be made"

And you are right, that would be crazy...

If someone is not performing, I would talk to them and then possibly let them go at some point if performance does not improve.

But Abilene is much nicer than I am... :sign5:

Again, not saying that's the case here.

Have to agree with KD5 on the matter. That is unfortunate. Don't know the full story why they can't give you time off but that is a long time out on the road without at least a short break. Being half English, in the UK it is standard to give proper days off and holidays. Most truck drivers there work weekly and have weekends off (if you drive within the UK). America likes to make their citizens work their butts off and get little in return. No wonder there are accidents and stress. Unless you're an owner op of course where you can pick and choose where to run.

That being said. Is Abilene hiring right now?

This piece of crap electronic garbage just stole my 30 minute break. It clearly showed 31 minutes and 7 hours driving and once I got moving down the road about a half a mile went back to 3 hours 15 minutes. Now I'm in the heart of Jacksonville rush hour with no place to pull over for another 30 minutes.

    Give me paper logs!!!!!!!!!!

Talk to @chralb ... I hear he wants to try out the company's Driver Referral Program... ;-)

The payoff is the equivalent to a day's driving.
(Well, actually two days driving for him) ... LOL

(Sorry Buddy, I just could not resist... lol)

Just happened to me the other day... I "moved or moved too far" when I moved the truck during my 30... Said 31 minutes and more hours and then POOF... Gone.

Call safety and explain what happened. They might be able to help. But ya, I guess moving during a 30 is once again bad form.

And by the way, our favorite bartender was working lunch today... I waited but you didn't show up. Oh well, maybe next time.

Can you drive those hours at Abilene where you do 9 hour drives to avoid the 36 hour reset? Forget what it was called.

Do you train drivers MidWest_MacDaddy? :D

Got my reload info on our way up to Vegas this morning. One pick up 5 miles from our drop, then back to Colton to meet our local driver and fill out the rest of the trailer. I have 2 drops on Friday, Orlando and Melbourne, then take Ray home. I should be home late Friday night. Right now we are coming through Baker, about 2.5 hours to Colton.

I think we are all in agreement with KD5.
We all brag on Abilene about this issue.
I am hoping for some screw up.
