Correct. I found a work around with mine but it's not something I'd do or recommend.

Idle anyway..I had an employer tell me one time couldn't idle between certain temps..I said ok..if I can't idle then you turn off the a.c. and heat in your office and see how that works for ya. After that convo I idled all I want. If I'm uncomfortable Im gonna get comfortable..they have the luxuries in that office..why can't I have the same in mine???

Kind of hard to idle when the truck keeps shutting off every 5 minutes. That's what he's saying here. Parameters are set by the company to not idle when it's between 35 and 69 degrees (or right around there). And to make it worse, the thermostat is right on the radiator, so it picks up on engine heat. So really, it's a crap shoot as to whether it will idle or not.

Right. As did I on one truck I had. Also, another one I had I kept complaining and a nice mechanic "fixed" it for me. ****Names withheld to protect the innocent (even though said person and said truck are no longer here)!****

So my plan for getting here last night, sleeping and having my 10 done at the 8am delivery time worked well. It's up at 8:30. But there's been a non stop stream of publix trucks coming in to the only dock .... wait ...... they just pulled me in. Unloading now. Misson accomplished. :D

One of our newest trailers is parked here as storage. Full of buliding supplies. 7583

Huge investment for a fleet that's turned over every 36 months.

Yep, so just let them idle when needed.

Welp I'm empty. Lets see how long they sit me. Better not be 8 hours like PA. Don't think the folks here would like that much with me in the only dock. Lol

Ok, so everyone's been posting their happenings from the past few days. Here's mine. Had hubby riding and was in Richmond waayyy too much in the past couple weeks. Got a delivery of flooring to Macon GA. On the way down, got reload info to pick up at the same facility and drop in Sandston VA. Ok. Over gross by 1400 pounds. Back to shipper, who tries to tell me all I need to do is slide my tandems and it'll be good. And wanted to argue said logic. (I was waiting to slide my tandems until I knew where to put them since it was like 10000 degrees out.) 12160, 31540, 37680. All he looked at was the 37680. Once I saw he wasn't getting it, I politely asked him if he was going to pay all my overweight tickets and also how long he had been driving a truck. Of course his response was no and I don't. Well, there ya go! So took a pallet off and then we were out of there.

Called my fm and got the ball rolling on a reload or trip down to the yard from sandston. Surprise! Got sent to cost plus in Windsor for a next day pick up. Got home with 1 hour to drive. Alrighty! Dropped trl at cp and went home for the night. Got a lovely letter from DMV stating I needed to come in and get a new license since I let my hazmat expire or it would be cxld on the 23rd. Oh boy. So picked up at cp, took to Richmond as per plan and wrote up the trl to be fixed. (And they fixed it pretty quickly too since it was loaded.) Ran around local Friday since home time was for Sunday and Monday. Imagine that, being in town early for home time and them trying to figure out what to do with me! That's getting old actually. Got home Saturday just in time to hit the DMV and get license taken care of. AND I even had a load to pick up from cp coming off home time. In 3 1/2 years I don't remember that EVER happening!

Now, trl I picked up from cp on Friday had a flat tire and was missing the button you push to slide the tandems. And the trl I picked up from there Tuesday was missing the license plate! Really????? Geez. So, instead of telling me to just go to the nearest truck stop and they'd fax it to me, safety told me to come to the yard. Mind you, load was headed to Jacksonville FL so kind of out of the way. But, 681 miles and 10.51 hours later, I was sitting at receiver for a 6 am this morning appt. Walked around the shopping center, hit up WalMart, watched some tv and made some dinner. Still waiting on reload 2.5 hours after sending in my mty call. Had to move though, because that place was getting to be a bit of a cluster and I didn't want to get stuck behind there. So, I'm like @chralb. Let's see how long it'll be.

    Whew!
