I forgot to ask. I hear Abilene sometimes send drivers assignments to and from Alaska. Anyone had those runs yet?

I have only heard scuttlebutt regarding Alaska. Seems I recall JB putting in a request to get on the list to go up that way. I'd love to get up that way. But, alas, I'm FAR too low on the totem pole to get on that list, much less actually get to go.

Probably be too cold for a Texan, lol. You can have it. I've been to Canada three times. That was ok, but western Canada and Alaska, I'll pass.

Alaska might be few and far between and yes, those are probably held as a nice "thanks for your high quality service to the company" rewards...

I have had two opportunities to hit Canada in the last year... first one I unfortunately had to pass on as my wife was going to have surgery but was able to accept the second one and it was a rush as my first cross border load... met some awesome people up there.

Looking forward to the opportunity to head north again sometime.... next summer that is.

Get your passport card if you want to be able to come back... LOL

East and Northeast especially is my favorite place to drive it can get hectic but if you don't let what others do get in your head and break your focus it's great and trust the people are nice also just have to give a chance.

Is it legal for trucks to take up 2 lanes? Been watching trucking YouTubers and this guy went to Brooklyn and said that if you feel you're on a tight road/bridge where it wouldn't be safe for a car to pass, then take up both lanes and drive in the middle.

Sometimes it comes down to weighing safety against "legal". For me, safety ALWAYS wins. And a general rule of thumb for truck driving is, those painted lines are not always for trucks. When we need the space, we simply have to use it. If we get in a bad spot, we can't simply back out or turn around to get out of it. Especialy with 4 wheelers darting around us. ;)

So for me, yes. I will block a lane to both give me space and prevent cars from putting themselves in harms way everytime.

For it's judgment call only you will know when and if you need to as Chris said based off the safety of the situation there is definitely some small roads in Brooklyn even worse in Queens.
