Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Quite the load we just finished. A total of 30 minutes to load, and a total of 30 minutes combined to drop both stops, and 2815 miles in between. I'll be dropping Ray off in 45 minutes then it's to the house until Wednesday. We ran a total of 12,350 miles and 4 extra drops. Me's tired. Be safe everyone.

 

Thanks. Does Abilene force dispatch drivers to NYC? I've been to south New Jersey in a car and that was bad enough. Couldn't imagine driving even further north in a big semi with a 53' trailer

They'll have to force me to NYC by threatening me with my life. Then I still won't go. I have no business up there. And no carrier pays enough for my either having a heart attack or killing someone.

I've told them more times than I can count that NYC is off limits to me. I am a safe driver. NYC is not safe.

Of course, I'very had to tell Abilene everything multiple times as the communication sucks. I truly wonder how this place makes any money sometimes.

Will be thru the Richmond terminal in morning,dropping a broker load,that I picked up in OH.Hopefully get me something going west lol.

 

Does Abilene tell you what route to take? Or could you use something like SmartTruckRoute that avoids sharp turns, toll boots, etc. and may take a little extra miles.

 

Route yourself,get fuel when you need it.As long as you're doing what your suppose to be,you won't here a peep from the company.

 

Do they shut the lights, heat,A/C off in the office, because they spend 20k a month?
Nope they just write it off,same as the fuel.

 

Everyone's opinion on NYC is different I love it maybe it's because I live here and drive here and NJ 5days a week it's funny cause when I go to Chesapeake or Norfolk in my car I can't wait to get out don't feel comfortable or even safe and way too much state police I feel 64 is worst than 95 and 278 my .02
