Nah. Taking a leisurely stroll to Murfreesboro TN for tomorrow evening out of Cost Plus in Windsor. Terrible when you go into dispatch on a Friday morning and get told there's nothing. So sent me home for the night and I grabbed this load this morning. Figured i'd just take my time on it.

Hmmm. Pulled into a small, out of the way truck stop for the night. Had 1/4 tank when I pulled the breakes. 10 min later, the truck is screaming for fuel, Guage on empty. Now I guess my fuel Guage is going bad.

On the KW's I'm told, the temp sensor is on the bottom of the drivers side mirror.

I just do my best to ignore the camera. Doesn't always work, tho. I've already been fussed at by Scott because my dog would get up on the dash while we were out and bump the camera. These things are too sensitive for heavy duty use, and they are too low on the windshield.

And I take that as a compliment. I have been out too long chained to this truck. My nerves are shot, and having time off almost stolen from me didn't help a bit. I was ready to leave this truck in Colton and rent a car home. I'm supposed to be on my way home now. Will have to wait and see after this delivery on Monday morning.

That being said, if Kimberly tries to steal my time off again and deny me home time, I will take that as being fired.

Best thing to do is ask a mechanic exactly where the sensor is on your truck. A real one, not those yahoos that work in our shop during the weekday because most of them don't know their head from a hammer. Barry (on Sunday's only), Russell (weekends only), or Shane (night supervisor), or Trey (days but his bay is down at the body shop). Those are the only ones I would trust to tell you the truth. I've only driven a Volvo, so can't say anything about how the others can be fooled into idling.

The KW's fuel gauge isn't going bad, that's they way they are. (much like older Ford and Chevy cars) To a 1/4 tank they're fine but then they drop like a rock to empty. Most folks never let them get beyond 3/8 before filling. Once it drops, you have little room to go or idle for long.

A friend of mine has one and he said the same thing. Said he was told never let it get under 1/4 tank or he'd be on the side of the road in no time. Now I don't think he lets it get below 1/2 tank.
