Do we have any KW drivers here that are good with the electronics? I just swapped into a KW and the last guy apparently tore it up. The SXM radio doesn't receive and the CB coax cables are missing the connector to hook up my CB. Anyone have any knowledge to share?

Welp, my 2 stop just got changed to a single and now delivers tomorrow at 8pm. Supposed to be ready by 2pm today. We'll see.

The SXM is most likely missing the antenna that they ignorantly stuck inside the windshield in the upper right corner. If you don't see a black square antenna there, they forgot to put it back on. My KW has the same issue. Solution: what I did is I had a receiver unit from another time. I transferred service and installed it in this truck. I used Scotch/3M double sided tape to mount the little antenna to the top of my drivers side mirror housing. Then, using the same tape, I attached the head unit to my QC so my QC does now come in handy. (LOL) I can take pics tomorrow if you'd like some semi-pro install ideas. I personally lIke to keep my dash top clean. Less reason for DOT to stop you, IMHO.
Now, as for the CB, as much as this may hurt, the missing connector may be a blessing in disguise. My coax is intact, but I have not been able to set my SWR for anything. I'm planning on visiting a CB shop to verify my findings, but from what I have seen, most stock coax is crap. A sorta simple fix that I saw on a new KW from a trusted trainer was a single antenna mounted to the top hand bar on the back of the sleeper. His new coax was run smartly, and he told me that there was a way to run the new coax up into the header to the back of the CB. Unfortunately, I don't know that path. And, if you are not into tuning radios and antennas, pay the money for a pro CB shop to help ya. I'm an amateur radio operator and antennas are a special knowledge base that I don't have. The 3M tape will help keep that CB tray in place, too.
Feel free to ask any questions here or PM me if I may be of some assistance. I don't know it all, but with any luck, we may both learn something.chralb, Lonesome and scottlav46 Thank this. -
I ask if I can park onsite. Some say yes, some say no. If yes, be sure to ask them if there is a certain area that you will be out of the way.
If no, then the closest truck stop is where I go. They may even suggest one to you.
Case in point, I arrived at my delivery this evening, not scheduled until 7am tomorrow. They were apologetic, but said I'd have to wait. I then asked if we could park on property, or if we'd have to vacate till morning. He told me that they lock the gates, but we could park just outside the gates, or, there was a Love's just 10 miles away. Some customers are more friendly than others. And common sense always rules. -

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Perhaps this explains my griping....?chralb Thanks this.
