Is there an average income per week working for Abilene ? I know it all depends on miles and such but just wondering what I can expect to take home a week or month.
Not wanting to pry but hoping most weeks are decent pay.

I see on here that some drivers are complaining of low miles and sitting a little longer than they want. I can understand things happen but would hate to be out and not making any money :(

Take home pay will depend on taxes and health insurance you opt for. I am single no dependents and have the cheapest insurance available and I usually take home between 900-1100 per week. Hometime will affect your income but I only take time off every 3 months.

Complaints about sitting and waiting on loads are more to do with wasted time that *could* have been used driving and earning income. I can't honestly say I have experienced a significant reduction in income due to wasted time. It's frustrating as hell, but ultimately not as damaging to the pocket as it feels when sitting for hours while chomping at the bit to get going again.

Also bear in mind that mileage pay is only part (admittedly the largest) of your income. Pay received for detention, extra stops and NYC delivery also make a noticeable difference if you get loads that qualify for the extras.

UGH... coming off vacation has been a cluster...

First I was so unorganized it was hard getting stuff together... then was running late getting to Wytheville... then I had a dead battery... finally got rolling but it smelt stale in here... thinking it was just from being closed up for a week... NO.... last night I kicked off my shoes before bed and the rug was all wet... no, not the puppy.... I guess the fridge defrosted over the week, duh right.... so the floor under my second rug was all wet.... airing that all out now...

No empty at Mountain Top so I parked for the night to get a good run at a fresh day today...

    Nope.... do a quick pretrip...

    Thump thump
    Thump thump
    Thump thump
    Thump .... THUD

Aaarrrrgggghhhh .... a flat on my drives!!!!

At the Loves down the road a bit for a new one.

And guess who left their RM730 GPS at HOME?

    Yup... me.... LOL

Thinking it's going to be one of those weekends.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

I turned 48 shortly after being hired on. But, most days, I feel like a 90 year old dog that just won't die. I'm in bed right now as I have been running my ### off since I parked the truck. Overextended myself doing chores that I never should have been doing. The mind is willing, but, the body is weak. Winter is gonna SUCK this year. I have always preferred the cold, but this year may be the year I start hating the cold and hot.

Poor planning cooked my goose the last pay period. $800 for 2 weeks. 4 swapped loads. A fuel leak didn't help, either. Real low morale. Just mentally drained. As I said, ran my ### off this last week trying to get caught up. Too many things that I will not get to. Was gonna start prepping the truck for heading out on Monday. Exhausted. Wife won't be going back out this time.

I miss the days when I loved my job. Working for pennies just makes everything suck.

Now, MD, he already said poor planning etc so let's not beat him into submission. It's ok, KD. I've had those weeks too. I will be better. When you're already frazzled, and it seems to keep piling on, sometimes you just have to take a moment and regroup. At least take one day (or part of one) and don't do anything while you're off. Easier said than done, I know.

3563. For 2 weeks. Think they are trying to thank me for fighting for my home time?
