I'm already in a freight shaker so I'm good. There is no way any earthquake could make my truck rattle anymore than it already does.

Don't worry. Just bring your concerns to payroll. If there's an error, I'm sure they'll make it up to you and probably throw a nice big bonus your way as well.

So last night after signing off here I got a response on the QC to run to Macy's in NJ to see if there is an empty there... 3rd times Charm right??? if not, bobtail to the PU and go from there.... (LOL... PU is only 5 miles from Macy's) ....

so I get to Macy's and after talking to a VERY talkative guard and telling me where the other two yards are to look he calls someone and finds out we have an empty on that yard... I go to hook up and it's like 2 inches on each side between two other trailers. Dang... lifting the landing gear is going to be interesting for sure.

But, before I get fully under it the guard comes back and said his boss said the trailer can't leave without a BOL... for an empty trailer???

Ok, so that finished ANY thoughts of picking up an empty... wasn't going to argue about an empty box when I have a "deliver ASAP load" waiting just five miles from me.

Roll over to PU and can't find 2400 69th St.... found 2200 69th.... and the place where three mapping programs believe 2400 69th St should be... LOL ... but nope... no 2400 to be found.

Luckily I see a yard dog coming down the street so I wave him down... he gave me directions to get there.... and...

Well... who knew 2400 69th. St. was right across the street from 2500 71st street... huh??? YES... 2400 69th St is ON 71st St.

    :laughing-guffaw:

Roam around to find paperwork and get ready to roll... whew... finally... YES

But by that time I will be short hours to complete... so with 5 minutes on both 11 and 14 (close enough) and an hour to Richmond Yard and two hours to the drop I decided that if this load was truly an "ASAP Load" that they would not be running me around PA & NJ looking for empty boxes.

So, shutting down for a 10 and will drop later this evening.

Best Part: ran into and out of NJ like a thief in the night... Gov. Christy didn't even know I was in town... then POOF... gone.

Nights are the only time to run to NJ.... LOL

Overall not the worst weekend by far... lol

    Stay Safe,
    MD

    What did you do now???

You know, if you don't start taking better care of your equipment they will replace your 17 KW with my 15 Volvo... LOL

At my company, the ones that wreck trucks get rewarded with new ones.

One idiot in particular broke his bumper, so they rewarded him with a shiny chrome one.
