Let's see - been to Rutters <sp> there in York a few times, Pella in Gettysburg and Arnold yard in Camp Hill. Plenty of Gatorade runs from Wytheville to Mt Top. He should be fine.

Hopefully, gettysburg about 30 mins from the house.he said 30 is a route you all take so that goes right by the house. Its would be nice to see him and so he could get home for kids school events. Good luck n be safe out there

Got a phone call from Tim earlier. I have to deadhead 635 miles up to Buford Ga and load at 1pm on Monday. I then have to deliver that at 10pm Monday night in Murray Ky. I'll be leaving the house Sunday, drive up there and take my 10 hour break, then head out to Murray. I then have a drop and hook at Pella in Murray going back to Richmond. I'm suppose to pick up my new trainee on Tuesday but it's going to be Wednesday. My truck needs to get a service and I have the issue of my armrest to get fixed.

Johnny boy why would they dead head everyone over 200 miles. They are dead heading my husband from nt sterlijg il to colmbus ohio. The company before where he work out never did it that much. Glad bc it keeps the money coming in and he not just waiti g and waiting on a load. Just trying to understand the truck industry. Be safe

Generally the rate the company is getting on the load they deadhead a driver to is covering the costs to move him. I pull tanks and we often get NC to Ca loads where a deadhead back to Houston is included in the rate. Whenever they can get a load out of Ca its gravy. That happens about 25% of the time. I actually like the deadhead better. Its much less hassle.

This is so true. Dead heading here is just a way of life. I was dead headed from Denver Co to Twin Falls Id, 715 miles last year to load at a regular customer that we have, they bobtailed me from the Richmond yard to Miami, 945 miles to pick up an empty trailer. As long as I'm paid, they can dead head me all over the country.

Amen to that JB dead head miles is better than a drop and hook. I love dead head miles.

any drivers who drive for Abilene
How long did it take you to get home so you could set up.your truck and get whatever you may need. The recruiter said every other load to three loads woukd get him back towards home but it has not been the case.
