Finally got to meet the one and only "ScooterDawg". What a surprise, and what a pleasure. Be safe on your run and keep in touch.

I'm sitting in the rest area in Maryland on 95. I had hours left when I got back to the yard so I asked for something to keep me rolling today and tomorrow. I got a load off the yard going to Reading Pa that delivers whenever I get there......at 7am in the am. I got caught in the DC/Balt traffic so I shut down here to take my 10. I'll be up and rolling at 4am. I put in for home time for Tuesday and Wednesday leaving back out on Thursday. I figure I'll get home Saturday evening, deliver on Monday then take my time off. At least that's how I hope it works, we'll see.

I'm getting more and more comfortable in my job here. Abilene really is a relaxed place to work. Paperwork is simple, our customer base is really easy, they don't micromanage and they let you do your job. With the help of runningman answering all my questions, and meeting scooterdawg to pick his brain everything is really falling into place. I'm glad I made the change, the equipment is top notch, the miles are there and the most important part for me, home time, is a nonissue.

They really do. The only thing I'm trying to get used to is the lack of pre-planning.

I'll be in the Reading PA area this morning around 10AM or so. I'll keep a watch out for you. Glad things are going well for you at Abilene.

Hey John, were you on US222 southbound between Allentown and Reading around 11:30 Friday morning? I think it was you. I was going northbound and gave you a shout out but you either didn't have your CB on, or the one in my truck isn't working right.

It was me. I was on the phone with my credit card company taking care of an issue with a credit I have been expecting that has not showed up. Sorry I missed you Steve.

Yes, it does kind of suck not knowing your next move until after you send in your empty call sometimes. But, most of the time as soon as I send in my call I have the next load information before I leave the consignee. Unless of course I'm in FL. Then heaven only knows how long it'll be. LOL I've waited 14 hours before getting a load out of there and then had to wait at the shipper for 7 more!

I am on my way home. I got back to the yard yesterday about 7pm. I have home time scheduled for this coming week so I went in to dispatch to see what was going to South Florida. In 20 minutes I was hooked to a trailer on the yard with a load going to Key West for Tuesday morning. Because this load delivers a day later and I'm out of hours sitting here in Kingsland Ga 5 hours to the house, waiting to get some hours back after midnight tomorrow, I will come back out Friday. I have 3 hours left on my 70 and need 5 to get home. I'll leave here at 9pm and be home at 2am Monday.

In all the years I've been trucking this will be the first time ever going down to Key West in a big truck. I've been down there many times on the bike with my wife, and have driven down there in the four wheeler, but never in a big truck. It's a 4 hour drive down there so I'll leave the house about 3am Tuesday morning to drop off my 3 coolers at the local Publix store there, that should take me all of an hour so I should be back home around 1pm.

Without going into a major rant, yesterday was my third pay day here at Abilene, because we are paid every 2 weeks, it makes it easier to schedule home time and be able to make sure I get my 3K plus miles per week. I've been here 6 weeks now and am averaging a little over 3150 per week. My pay has come out to more per week than at Calex and the big issue for me is there has not been issue one with my payroll.
