He should have told dispatch on his release from orientation that he needed to swing by the house to get the rest of his belongings. The other sure way is to put in for his home time via the macro on our Qualcomm system. Here's a bit of insight to help him and yourself along. If you want to be home every 10-14 days, put in for your home time the day you come out of the house ending your home time.

Abilene gets their costs covered on a big portion of our outbound loads. I was told way back when that HP loads are covered to and from so a deadhead is a worst case scenario. A backhaul off a HP is icing on the cake for the company.
Mommy6 they try but as they say about the best laid plans of mice and men...
they will do their best, YardDart correct me if Im wrong but you got back to OK fairly quick to get set up right?
In the defense of abilene we are SLAMMED with freight with too many drivers out/home this weekend. My FM basically begged me to run out here to Michigan today and tried to get us to team to CA afterwards. Heck no to the team run!! So we are getting loaded for Dublin then next load MT Top. Steve in Wytheville rocks! Great about preplanning! The Challenger and YardDart Thank this. -
The reality is, Mommy6, given a 30 day month hubby will be gone at least 24 days, home six or parts there of. If he does regional, he may get some extra drive bys where he spends the night. After a year or so he may qualify for many local jobs which will put him home every night. Just gotta survive the first year and keep his record clean. There IS light at the end of the tunnel. Just pray it's not a freight train. Keep your chin up. If he does a good job, he will NEVER have to worry about unemployment. Chin up.

), but somehow I've managed. Hopefully your husband will make it home occasionally. As to orientation, if I recall correctly, it is unpaid time, while in class/on Abilene yard training. Once the drivers are in their trucks delivering loads, the pay begins. Hope he makes it home soon!

I haven't been home since MY CHOICE I plan on going home the 11 of April and every 3 weeks from then on. My first 30 days I ran the states of Va , Nj, Ct, Il, In and Oh. Not counting trip home to get the rest of my stuff. I'm currently heading to Fargo Nd. Will be there in the morning for a Monday morning del. Anyone know where do we usually go from Nd it also on the state line with Mn. Thanks and be safe every one. Oh as far as sitting. I yhink the longest I've waited on a load when I got empty might have been an hour once.
