Mommy6, unless the dispatcher preplans your husband's trips, he won't be assigned his next trip until he clears his last trip/load. I believe the more seasoned drivers occasionally request being preplanned. It doesn't always happen, but sometimes it works out that they are given their next assignment before clearing. It is like a giant puzzle that dispatchers have to piece together with many variables: location of various drivers, weather, time of delivery, and much more.

In my 5 weeks here I've only been preplanned once and all the other times had next load assignment with in a few minutes. But as soon as I start getting off loaded I send in a free form message letting them know I'm being off loaded as I send the message.

Although late info, the BH in ATL has parking and they get there as early as 3am. The oldsmar location is tiny with a closed gate. Iffy street parking. Its a narrow 2 lane. The last time I was there they were 30 min early. He might get the cucumber load going to Long Island out of there since it loads in Myakka City just south of Tampa. But you will ssit all day until they load at night usually. Great run though.

Mommy6 tell your husband to ask for a Kinzers load. It delivers about 15-20 mi east of Lancaster. We are up there several times a week.

    mommy6 and UTurn1 Thank this.

With loads like Kinzers its amilk run. Its near his house annd it isnt a sought after load. Its kind of a load theyd be surprised anyone would ask for. 260 miles. Most solo guys ask to get at least 550 away from Richmond or more. Never hurts to ask! All they can say is no.

Here a question for you all. How good is the insurance? Does he get it right at the two month mark or does it start the following month. Trying to an dr visits and what not before summer. He will be with the company may 17 is two month mark. Who is the carrier?

Kinzers loads out of Sabra in Chester. More than likely, the trailer will be brought to the yard. Usually get brought right back to the yard after delivering, unless something is close. The insurance carrier is Coventry. 3 months is the waiting period, I believe. It's ok insurance, but not great.
