Well, George's time to show his stuff is closer than we thought. Under the trucking tutelage of you, JohnBoy, and BigBrin, along with his focus to the company manual, and applying the knowledge through "on the road" experience, he should do great! I'm quite proud of how he has grasped things. He has kept me well informed of the ropes, so I understand moderately well how Abilene operates. Shoot! Before he was even hired, I think he was reading posts on the forum. He has really taken ownership of his job and is proud to be an Abilenee. I am thankful that he is part of such a good company with such wonderful people. You guys (and gals) have welcomed him and are great! Without gushing too much, I'm proud of my man, and hope he does a grest job at testing out. He has really received great training and mentoring and has been treated extremely well. See, though I've never had the honor of meeting JB and BB, I have to rave on their skill at being quality trainers too! Both have treated George with respect, taught him much, and become great friends to him. Thanks for your awesome mentoring and training! He has also become friends with many other Abilene drivers, both on and off the forum..and received good advice. (Thanks!) So, hats off, George! Wednesday, hopefully, go show 'em what your made of and shine!

I'm just waking up here in Murray Ky. I picked up my loaded trailer in Buford Ga yesterday at noon after making it up to Jackson Ga Sunday night. It seems like it never ends coming out of the house, driving the full length of the turnpike, then trying to get out of Florida on 75. I wasn't able to leave until 10am yesterday and had about 80 miles to go. I got to the shipper and my trailer was finished sitting at the dock. I was about an hour and a half early and rolling out of the gate with this heavy load of glass on about thirty different types of metal carrying crates. The load was nose heavy and rode like I was pulling two trailers. I stopped in Cartersville to scale, was grossing 79k, had to make a few adjustments then left. I stopped off in Chattanooga and met a friend of mine that worked for me when I had my used car lot. Where was he working? At a used car lot. I got parked, went and had lunch then drove straight to Murray.
All day I was wondering where my reload info was, I mean we only have about 35 empties here getting loaded, I figured I would be reloading here. I got here at 10 pm, live unloaded and was done at 11. I sent in a message asking about a reload and was sent one immediately. It was a load right here that drops in Pella Ia at 7 tonight. The load was finished loading during the night. I dropped my empty and went to bed. I'll be leaving out at 8:30. Time to get up and make some coffee.wing_rider and Lonesome Thank this. -
JohnBoy, love going into Murray. I know some don't because you go in so heavy but the loads out of there are usually nice. Did the load you're on back in August, I think. They bobtailed me all the way to the USX terminal in Markham IL. Got a chance to stop at the Iowa 80 and look around. Had never been there. And it's pretty out that way, too. Well, maybe not in the winter!!! Hahaha
George, you're going to do great! You've been lucky to have not one, but two great trainers. Wish that I had that from the beginning of my short career. But, the info on the boards, and in meeting and becoming friends with other drivers has helped tremendously. Good luck to you as you test out and step into your own truck!! Remember, you may be a solo driver, but you are never alone out here.jungHo, gntorres61 and YardDart Thank this. -

I'm empty here in Pella Iowa at the Pella plant. I left Murray at 8:30 this morning, drove to the Loves on 24 for fuel and shower, then had an uneventful 535 ride up here. I'm now parked waiting on dispatch to respond to the two messages I've sent in wondering what's next. I know I'm not in the dispatch loop, but for Gods sake, how about a response? Piss on it, I'm going to bed.
