I honestly believe that it boils down to 2 things: where you live; and how much Kimberly likes you.

I prefer legal places to park. And the way they run me, facilities are nice/required.

I do park at rest areas, picnic areas, closed weigh stations, etc. I have parked on an entrance ramp once, and I prefer not to ever do that again.

I don't have a reliable database for other parking areas besides word of mouth or prior experience.

With any luck, I won't have to worry about this much longer, tho.

They used to sell a book at the truckstops. It was a full size book, not one of those pocket sized ones. Can't remember the name of it right now.
Possibly your gps has that information on it? My old RM510 does.

My "run to be" is HPh to what I'm guessing is a new construction grocery store in Lake Charles. Google Earth, Maps, and both GPS's show no grocery store, or open space for construction.

I'm working the math with a noon tomorrow pickup and a Monday 8am delivery and I don't see how I can make it on time. I'm still working through senarios. I'm exhausted. As I said prior, I'll no longer try recap running. I start getting moody after 8 days straight. And, as Abilene strictly dictates how we take our home time, after my next home time, I'll start taking 2 out, 2 off, with a 34 in between. I know this is the whimpy way out. But, I'm tired.

    I wish everyone the best.

I believe the book you're talking about is called The Next Exit. Supposedly has a lot of places in it. Wally worlds, food , etc.

I've seen a more full size book in TA's and Petro's they sell for $15. I've thought about it, but wasn't sure that is the book I've heard about.

Definitely wasn't that one. It sucks getting older. It was something like the National Truckstop Directory. Used it all the time while I was OTR. Threw it away when I went local. Wish I still had it now that I am doing regional. Luckily, I go to the same places most of the time.
