I prefer Rest Areas, if possible, for sure but open to other options as needed. Mostly whatever is closest to the drop so I can drop and wait with a full clock, when possible.

I use Truckers Path Pro and my RM730 to find several options either along the way or at the destination ... of course Apple Maps (Google Maps) for satellite views to look around the drop for places to park.

What do others use to plan their stops?

So today was an educational day for me which ill share, hopefully will help someone when they come to this. Discovered they loaded the light freight first and heavy freight last. Was unable to scale legal due to bridge law, and sliding 5th wheel didnt help. Was under gross by 4000ish. Needed to go back about 4 holes past legal to be good on axle weight. Dm was at lunch so Contacted broker and went to a southern jersey facility to have it reworked. Which beat northern jersey! And was able to make legal weight. Today was first time sliding 5th wheel.

1st scale ticket 5th wheel most of the way back, axles back a few holes. 11340,28860,35640=75840

2nd scale 5th wheel all way up, axles at 41' to center of axles 12180,28840,34840=75860

    Reworked

1st scale 5th wheel all way up, axles about 40.25 ' to center of axles 12260,31140,32340=75740

2nd scale 5th wheel all way back, axles same as above 10920,32460,32340=75720.

1340 pounds moved with 5th wheel.

Tells you every PFJ, Loves, TA/Petro, and Mom n Pops Truck Stops... even says if their is parking, as reported by others (not always up to date) and every Rest Area and Walmart for miles...

What kind of information are you needing?

When it comes to 34 vs recap, I actually prefer recap (edit: unless 34 is at home)... the idea of "hanging around" a single truck stop or rest area that long is too long for me... rather run a few "light days" until my clocks come around... take a few leisurely days to drive and enjoy the views a bit.

What do others prefer and why?

Whimpy? Not at all... I think there are several drivers that run that way... and if this weekend for 2 days off doesn't work out then expect 3 days the following weekend. Pretty straight forward for all to work with.

Might work out better for you too.
