My issue is they keep putting me on small window trips that I just don't have time to properly plan out. This next run is an example. I simply don't know how I'll be able to make the 8am Monday delivery time.

Yeah definitely few options around if you pass Costco drive and go down about half a mile maybe a little less there's a sunoco with some truck parking great food fresh made all day right pass there is a Wawa with truck parking also and right before the overpass right by the train tracks couple spots on the side.

I prefer 34 resets. Less worry about my 70 running out. Theoretically, you will be given longer runs if you have more hours on your 70. 34hrs at a truckstop doesn't bother me. I have books to read and internet to surf.

Send a message saying load will be late and by how much, then just get it there as quick as you can. I can't see them making too big of a deal if you tried your best.

Now if they see 30 min breaks stretched out to 45 and you dont get rolling right when your 10 is up then it may not go so well

So who was on the yard for the free grub?. My MD delivery led to an upstate NY pickup and I'm now stuck at the shipper as my 14 ran out.

I always try to stop for a 10 where I can fuel before I head out again. Saves time not having to fuel during the work day.

I mostly use trucker path to check the size of the truck stops I find on the RM. Bigger the truck stop, greater the chane of finding parking later in the evening.

I only frequent rest areas for my 30 and even then only during the day as I nearly got stuck in one late at night when parked trucks were blocking the road. I take late night 30s at truckstops.

I don't see fueling before head out saving any time. It still has to be logged on duty. I will end stopping at a truck stop sometime during the day anyways.

I prefer taking my 10 at rest areas. They're usually more quiet than a truck stop.

Kinda hard to get a shower at a rest area. Well, unless you're on the OH Turnpike that is.

I guess you missed the part about stopping at truck stop sometime during the day.

FYI: It was almost two hours after talking with my DM that I posted my little rant. Needed to vent a bit. Then with timing I get a DH move when I'm posting again, lol.

I plan too. Same with your home time also.
