Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Well, this was an AWESOME weekend!!!

Got to visit mom for part of a day.

(She's been laying on the guilt trip, and thick too, about not stopping by to visit her. As if I am in Illinois every other week... LOL)

Then the rest of the home time was spent with my youngest daughter at ISU for Dads Day. The place has changed a bit over the years since I attended so it was nice to see some of the newer buildings and sad to see some of the older ones gone now too.

Some of the old college bars are now gone but we enjoyed one of the newer Irish Pubs and one of my old hangouts after the football game.

Redbirds won their football game.
Cubs won the first game of their series.

Had a great day today just hanging out at Dog Parks with the Puppy and catching up with my daughter.

LIFE IS GOOD!!!!

Rolling out at some point in the morning.

 

Both of us spending our HT within shouting distance of each other, lol.

I also head out tomorrow... at least available to drive tomorrow. We'll see when a load assignment hits my QC. I'll head to the truck in the morning and if no messages, I'll ask for my DM to text or call me when I do have something and I'll walk back home until then.

No since just sitting in the truck when I can sit at home.

 

Guess that's one good thing about Peoplenet. They have an app. As long as I'm logged into my truck, my messages show up on my phone.

 

Closer than you know since my mom now lives in Paris and I take Rt 36 to get to I-57...

Qualcomm supposedly has that option too, it just hasnt been enabled. Its much easier for us to get up and switch the truck on every hour and wait 5+ minutes for the QC to boot up to check for messages.

 

If you did that this weekend, I'm surprised you didn't see the truck, lol.

 

Yeah, I just love that option.

 

I made it to my delivery, a few minutes late, but customer wasn't upset, luckily. Neighbors had a delivery as well and forced me to offset serpentine back.


The entrance to the service area is on the other side of the red tractor.


Sux that I couldn't make it here last night. But, I made it. Now, time to consult my Magic 8 ball to see where they will send me next.

 

Were you by chance at World Market in Murfreesboro TN? Looks like it. That usually has a 2nd stop on it.
