Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Well, tech came and went. Readjusted the slack adjusters and told me to watch them, as they didn't adjust properly when he adjusted them yeasterday.

And I have mountains to pass through. Sigh. I guess we'll see what happens.

Company came thru today,Walter shot me a message telling me to drop in Wilson,and bobtail home.Will be home till Monday morning,its the greatest feeling heading towards the homestead.

 

Can't wait for that homestead feeling myself bud.

Sitting in Groveport after hauling an MT from the yard to here. Walter says I'm like 6th on the list for pulling one out so it's a sinch I'm doing my 10 here. Might hit the nearby Pilot for a shower.

He's keeping my HT in mind so not sure where I'll be headed from here. But thus far, Walter has been simply great and I really enjoy working with him. Gotta buy that man a beer or two during my HT to say thanks.

 

But what about our mandatory meeting!!!!!

 

You know what this meeting is about don't you?? They're gonna erect a statue of @MidWest_MacDaddy and give him the ambassador of the year award!!

 

Presto changeo of plans. BT me to the Target DC to grab an MT dry van. No clue what next... lol

Got empty at 8am this morning in Memphis, an hour later got our reload info. Deadhead to our WM yard, pick up a loaded trailer going to Jacksonville Fl for 8am. This is were it gets totally off the wall. We drop and hook and leave, 165 miles down the road my phone rings, it's Abilene. Here's the conversation. John, turn around, bring that load back to WM, drop it and hook one there going to Riverside for Saturday morning. I don't care were I'm told to go, but dude, really? Yes, you're the only team that we know can get it there for 3am Saturday. Ok, turn around and start heading back. 15 minutes later I get a text from Kimberley, do not go to WM, continue on to Jacksonville, really? I'm now going from exit to exit and racking up miles. No problem, she's the boss inside, I do what she says to do. I just can't wait for this meeting Saturday, this will surely be brought up.
