I have to say... I just called and spoke to Michael (recruiting) and the call lasted all of about 30 secs. Very Disappointed.

    Something like this...
Me: Hi may I speak to a recruiter
Him: This is Michael please hold, click.
Him: Ok how may I help you.
Me: Hi I just had a few questions and was hoping you could help me..We live just north of Tampa...
Him: Interrupts me, Ma'am are you a qualified driver?
Me: Not yet, im attending school but my Husband is qualified.
Him: Well who is this call for?
    Me: Both of us really.
Him: Well are you a team?
Me: That's the plan but first I had a couple of questions.
Him: Well he cant train you unless he is a exsisting employee.
    Me: Ok never mind then.
    Him: Ok bye

First off please give me a chance to speak. Second I thought a recruiters job entailed making me feel welcome and helping me decide on my best course of action. I guess it did in a way considering the feeling I got from him made me mark them right off the list. At least all the big horrible companies acted like they wanted to speak to me "a female", and that I wasn't wasting their time. Sorry for calling.

Well I can tell you Michael is straight forward and honest as recruiters should be. Would you rather him paint you a fairytale? Although Michael and I couldn't come to an agreement on it being the right fit for me, his honesty was appreciated.

Glad he was able to help you and common courtesy is far from painting a fairy tale. Thanks for the response.

I didn't see them when I picked up the trailer. By the time I got back to get my load back from them I was so emotionally drained I couldn't even wrap my head around what I had just gone through let alone have a discussion with them. My trainee even mentioned about why they went a different way. Chris apologized to me about the whole thing but we agreed there really wasn't a good solution to this problem. The only communication I had with them was via text, parked right next to them in the parking lot .

I drove for Abilene, and I gave a friend of mine that runs team Abilene's number because they were looking for a change. They got the same rude and abrupt treatment from Michael. He called me back and said if his dealings with Michael were any indication of how Abilene operates that phone call ran him off. I thought a job of a recruiter was to bring qualified drivers in, not run them off.

Thats too bad. I'm not going to make an excuse as to what happened. When I was looking to come on board I called in and spoke with Kurtis, one of the owners who is in charge of that department. He forwarded my name and number over to Sally then I started the process. I don't know if it soured you altogether, but I would definitely call back and asks for her. You'll be thankful you did. Right now she's off until Monday, her daughter just had a baby.

I've heard this a number of times. I've never had to deal with him. Sounds like I don't want to.

Well I almost called Sally to tell her about my friends experience, but decided why bother. It left a sour taste in my friends mouth and he said he wasn't interested after that interaction. I know he and his co driver easily qualify, no chargeable accidents and only 1 ticket between them in the last 3 years. They have been driving for Fed Ex ground for the last few years. I can't place Michael, maybe he arrived after I left.

I had all these grand illusions about driving straight through to Richmond, nope. We left Casper last night about 6pm local time. Tim was driving, in fact I got back to Casper with about 15 minutes left on my clock. He was ready to drive. We switched trailers then left. No sooner as we get on 25 south the same crap started, fog, rain snow then ice. I was going to go across 26 through Scottsbluff Ne and pick up 80 in Ogallala Ne. Instead I advised him to drive down to Cheyenne to the Loves and that's where we were going to sleep, he was a little upset, but I told him I couldn't go through another minute of that type of weather. We got up at 7 and was rolling out at 8. He's driving to Brooklyn Iowa where I'll take over. I plan on being in Richmond about 6pm tomorrow night. Meanwhile I get to rest across Nebraska and Iowa today.

I did have an issue with my truck, my refrigerator took a dump. I had to buy a couple of those styrofoam coolers to put my food in. I called the shop yesterday and told them about it. I was expecting the same answer as from my last company about not fixing or replacing them. To my surprise they said they have them in stock at the yard and that with 69k on the clock it would be covered under warranty. That made my day. I'll get it switched out tomorrow when I get back in.
