I have a 2013 Volvo. Not sure how much of a choice we have. I just got lucky. The other driver that started when I did got a 2011 Volvo to start with. When it was sold, he got a 2013. Not sure what year the newer guys have been getting. No big deal to me, but I've heard a few people have been grumbling about it.

 

That sucks, John. Had a truck in front of me the other day headed into FL blow both right rear drives. Had to dodge flying rubber. Talk about a wake up for him (and me!).

 

Sounds like your trainee brought Murphy along with him. Tell him to leave him at home next time. Hope you get fixed and back on the road quickly.

Happy for you, that you have a good one. While other truckers are concerned for George because of high miles, age, etc. of the truck he was assigned, he says it's really a pretty good truck.

 

I was just asking George last week if he had experienced a blowout while in training. He said he had not. Wow! It's kind of ironic, JB, that now you had one. Hope home time isn't waylaid too severely!

 

Yesterday I heard a really loud noise on I270 near Gaithersburg MD. Rush hour, a car cuts in front of Swifty, who slams on his brakes. Trailer brakes lock up and what sounded like his tandems sliding backwards until they hit they hit the stop, must not have been locked! That was loud!
