Well, hold that happy thought for a moment...
this load which was scheduled for drop today at 2pm is not due until the 8th... so the earliest they will take it is the 7th... {sigh}
So a quick phone call to Richmond to see if we have a drop yard here in Indy so I can go grab that other load heading back to Wytheville.
Nope, no drop yards in Indy.
So waiting on them to call the broker to see what they can do about this today.
I still have hope that an answer is coming... well, we know how that goes but what I mean is I am sure they are working on it and will be getting back to me with a solution.
Tomorrow is hometime... but that is a cushion day... needing to get back to vote on Tuesday so Tuesday/Wednesday will work just has good... unless I am babysitting this load until the 8th...
Guess I could just run it back to Wytheville and let them figure it out on Monday... LOL ... just kidding but there is so much time I could do that, and someone else could run it back here and still would not be late... LOL -
And, for what it's worth, KD5 was informed that we ALL hit this occasionally... and that is true... it does happen... and it does suck... but he dealt with it differently than the rest of us do.
This hits all of us at one point or another and some (like new or difficult drivers) more that others... this weekend a few of us are sitting including JB...
So, keep Abilene on that short list of yours.
But know it's not perfect either... proof here. -
I've always said if you stuff all these companies in a brown paper bag, shake real good, then pour the contents out, the only difference is the color, I just happen to like Abilene green the best. For the once a year this happens to me, I have a right to vent. I'm done venting, I'm still pissed, and my wife dislikes me and Abilene right now. But hey, my chocolate lab still loves me, so its all good.chralb, 4mer trucker, mitrucker and 2 others Thank this.

It's only their fault if they opt to not do anything about it and just sit and moan and groan on the patio.
Sometimes one needs to make a call or walk up to the window or call a broker... sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't.
There is a difference.
I could sit here until the 8th and complain on the thread 8 times every day until then... instead I am trying to help find a solution... and also minimize it from happening again in the future... JB is doing the same thing (although in a different tone) ... it might not slip through the cracks next time... LOL
But if I do end up sitting here until the 8th ya, that will totally suck and I will be pissed ...
BUT...
suck it up buttercup and
welcome to trucking MD -
We do use the USX terminals in Markham IL and Springfield OH. More than likely, you'll be sitting on it though.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

Oh God help us all should that ever happen...

Not me, I'm happy being OTR... I would not survive in that office... LOL
Much easier to moan and groan out here...
DrummingTrucker Thanks this. -
Last time I was told to drop at Springfield Ohio, guard said Abilene was over their trailer limit and I couldn't drop. After talking to dispatch that was correct so I had to sit a while before delivery.. But they did pay me layover.RebelChick and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this.

My day today, being entertained by one little bad to the bone dog parked next to me that hasn't shut up one second.
