Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Yeah, Franks. That place is way way old. Back in the day, we'd go there for breakfast after closing down the bars. 1985. And it was old as dirt then, but they had the best food, or at least my hard drinking self thought so. Not sure about that now or even if I'd want to try it. Lot Lizard Inn right next door.

Bumped a dock at the Penske/Kroger warehouse in Shelbyville, IN at 8:00pm. Got my paperwork at 1:00am.

Miracle of miracles, the Love's truck stop at exit 123 had three or four parking spaces available.

Technically I'm in the middle of my driving day with 7 hours left on my 14. But nothing came in when I sent my End Trip, so I'm pretty sure I won't get another load assignment until tomorrow. So it's back to bed for me after driving only 30 miles total for today.

 

I saw one of those on the way here, didn't look much better than where I am now. Hopefully I can escape before a third night finds me here.

 

Just watched a dude driving a Roadway double trailer exit his parking space by driving forward over the curb and median.

 

Don't usually see doubles in a parking space because it's so tricky backing them. Maybe he got boxed into a spot and the only way out was forward.

 

Well after reading about everybody elses last couple days i need to go buy a lotto ticket.

Currently in upstate ny with a hp load that was ready that i got friday evening while at my broker load.

(Only hiccup was load had been sent twice 2 dif trl numbers, same to and dest. Not on yard or at dc but at the plant...qc said dc)

When i got in around 0200 saturday it looked like a truck stop with so many trucks parked in made up spaces, and sunday was no better. Most trucks ive seen in my short time here.

I can also dispell the rumor yall are thinking...the name on the sign still says abilene and not the mega of your worst nightmare, there was infact a skeleton crew atleast onscene, (cant confirm working lol) and the doors were not locked with no lights.

Now just waiting for the contractors. Cant do anything till after 10 anyway

 

Well. Spoke to soon on that lotto ticket.

No contractors here to unload my 1 case, per store staff its not gonna be installed for another week atleast

O and im up to 95 nails left in the floor so far with an unk amount under the case.....
