Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Whew... good... I was beginning to worry...

 

Creative is one way to describe this crazy multi stop trip I am on. The driver I got it from tried telling me how it got screwed up, but 5 minutes into the explanation my head started spinning and I figured it was better not knowing, just hook, roll and get there when I get there.

 

Well, sitting on the Richmond Yard... nothing planned to get me home... family in town and planned on HT starting tomorrow... called in... nothing on you, check back in the morning...

So I start looking for an empty to take home with me... can't find an empty that isn't red tagged.... so I called back in...

"hey, can you tell me if we have any empties on the yard?"

"what truck are you in?"

(looks up truck number)

"but you're not under a plan"

"I know, but I have HT starting in the morning so I thought I would just take an empty home with me so I'm ready come Monday"

"Let me send an email to see if I can get you a load"

"Ok, works for me thanks"

 

And look who's now under load heading home.

Just a little simple communication....

I love it when a plan comes together.

 

Great to hear the guys wanting to go home,are getting there.I'll be staying out,so I can have a little extra time home for Christmas.
Currently at the pilot in Waterloo,Ia.

Finish a deadhead move to Boar's Head in Groveport and drop an empty reefer.
