After dealing with it last Christmas, I came away with a totally new perspective on how the Federal Goverment can waste even more money. OKC post office with one pallet of mail to Fort Myers Fl unload, reseal trailer and sent back to OKC empty. I got a new perspective in government waste.

I'm doing the shuttle back and forth. I love the miles and no down time.

Nah. Next time someone breaks wind in your presence, tell them "conflatulations". ;)

Light dusting of snow just started falling in Wytheville.

I know right... that would so totally suck!!! :)

While this truck does have a few issues, it will idle 24/7 for me if/when called to do so. :D

My truck (different company) will idle 24/7 if I set only the trailer brakes. The only thing is, I can't bump the rpm's up a few hundred doing it.

Looks like an Abilene Convention here at the Pilot off exit 96 on I-70 near Indy. At least two other Abilene trucks here.

Also saw more Abilene trucks than usual heading the other direction driving up here from Wytheville.

First time I've ever run out of my 70. My current load is a bunch of Gatorade to be dropped at that beverage distribution place. Started the day 7hr 17min away according to Google Maps, but with only 7:42 on the 70-hour clock.

Didn't make it. Had 19min left on my clock when I pulled in to the Pilot, with the destination being 35 miles away. Hauling 79,620lbs up the mountains of West Virginia in the snow tends to slow one down well below the posted speed limit.

I guess I coulda used my off-duty drive to go the rest of the way, but then I woulda REALLY been stuck after dropping the trailer, as I wouldn't have had any time whatsoever, off-duty or otherwise, to get to place to sleep for the night.

So we'll wait for the morning and head there early.
