Google maps gives eta based on posted car speed limits that we can't always achieve and that's before you take slower loaded speeds up hills into account.

I only use it to cross reference the distance compared to my GPS. Basically checking that the GPS isn't taking me on a significantly longer route than necessary.

I know, man. I know. I wasn't, like, surprised that I didn't make it on time. I knew when I first saw the time estimate that I wouldn't make it. :D

The Qualcomm GPS (I call her "Edna" 'cause she's old and crotchety and forgetful and has a speech impediment) always wildly overestimates how long it'll take me to get to my destination. I think Edna assumes I'll be driving 55mph on the freeway.

The Google Maps app on my tablet (I call her "Jessica" because she's young and cheerful and blindly optimistic about my driving options since she has no idea I'm driving a 72' vehicle) always gives me the estimated time if I were driving a 4-wheeler and driving the maximum allowable speed limit.

My actual time of arrival is always somewhere between those two (though usually a lot closer to Jessica's estimate than Edna's).

If you are using the GPS in the truck someone might have played with the sittings. You can go in a tweak the speeds and road preferences in the settings.

I ended up getting the copilot app for my iPhone and then a RM GPS so I juggle those two for different things and never use the one on the QC but it's there and useful to some degree after you set things to your desired preferences.

Yay me, on a broker produce load, been at the consignee for 4 hours now and no sign of movement in the trailer. I know someone here is working as 3 trucks have arrived, gotten unloaded and left.

Maybe they dislike green trucks as much as I dislike broker loads...and noisy reefers. I've been on reefer night shift since Sunday and really struggling now. 3 hours sleep during the day broken up by the reefer is taking its toll. Could seriously use a reset to catch up.

I actually saw one of those black animals (looked more feline than canine) running beside the truck a couple nights ago. Scared me witless, but the upside is that the adrenaline kept me wide awake for the rest of the night.

When they are bundled up you can't see what you are paying for until it's too late, so they should offer winter discounts.
