Just got the order to drop this load at our drop yard in Springfield Ohio. I'll be there about 2pm tomorrow. Then I'll grab something going back to richmond. I can see it now, I'll be home about midnight Saturday night. In an hour and twenty minutes I'll get the opportunity to drive from Laramie Wyoming to Brooklyn Iowa.

After losing most of two days, one with inverter install and the second, ABS light I departed Richmond at 1530 with a deadhead bobtail move to Lafayette Indiana to pickup a brand new trailer from th Wabash Trailer company a 697 mile run according to the dispatch post. OK not bad. Made it to the Loves at m'm 173 20 miles inside KY on I 64 at 2330 before shutting it down for the night. Johnboy, just now saw your text. Don't wanna wake ya. Tomorrow I think I will buy the headset Blue Parrott Dr + Hope everything is ok. Gotta admit, kinda like the newer MACK. Other than space limitations, and the one bed, it's pretty nice. Certainly quieter than yellow beast.

George, I've picked up new trailers there before, it's a little tricky with a boatload of paperwork. Call me after 10am, I'll give you some helpful tips.

Boy, wanna talk about getting it royally up ones ........ We got to springfield ohio at 3pm. Sent in my empty call at 3:15 and at 3:30 had my reload info and my load info to go home with. My load home is sitting at the yard in Richmond. It's going to a new Publix in Weston, about 25 miles from the house. My reload from Springfield was a deadhead to a little town in Beverly WV. It was a drop and hook for a load that I was to drop at the Richmond yard. Tim was out of time for the day so I drove to Beverly. It took us 4 hours to get here, then it's another 4 to the yard. I figured I would leave Richmond and finish out my clock then take my 10 and be home at midnight tomorrow night. Right. Another classic example of me doing everything I'm suppose to and no one else does.
I get to Beverly and the place is closed up tighter then a crabs..... The guard says to check the trailers to find my loaded one, #6479. I found it, the only one of ours here, except its empty, as in no load. The gaurd tells me that because of the holiday weekend, no one will be in until Monday. Great, now I get to spend my weekend in Beverly Wv at the Armstrong Flooring plant. I call into Jeremy back at richmond and he tells me that I need to stay here until the morning so someone with more power can tell me to deadhead the 269 miles back to richmond. Unreal, I understand it, but I don't like it. It means that now I'll be home at noon on Sunday, with a house full of family waiting on me to show up. Would I be out of place if I said that right now, I hate my job? Plus the fact Tims wife probably hates me, why not, he's 269 miles to the house and he gets to sleep with me one more night instead of sleeping with his wife. My wife? She probably hates me also, as does the two Labs I have. I'm going to bed here, at least they'll let me sleep here until someone with bigger balls gives me the ok to deadhead the 269 miles back to richmond.YardDart, The Challenger, gntorres61 and 2 others Thank this. -
Ahhh...Tough call. That falls into my personal category of "Better to ask for forgivness than to ask permission!"

Folks at the Wabash Trailer company were real nice. Got my shiny new trailer and dropping it at BOARS Head in Forest City Arkansas later today. Suffered a slight case of Food Poisoning as the maintenance guys must have disconnected the fridge as they installed the inverter in this newer MACK I inherited. All my food thawed. now I gotta eat out again!! Not to mention another pair of deuced drawers in the trash can. Life goes on. I thought throwing up was the worst. Involuntary bowel movements got them beat. Werner guy, you are not alone. Deuces.

Just a little heads up for any one that drives for Abilene that doesn't live in Va. and is required to pay state income tax, Abilene only takes out state taxes for drivers that live in Va.. The last two years I owed over $1200 in state taxes. They mention it to drives in orientation, but must guys don't catch it. I know there are a lot of recent hires on here and don't want anyone to be surprised next tax season. I have driven for several companies over the last 14 years and Abilene is the only company that doesn't tax out state taxes for out of state drivers, there must be some financial reason why they don't. Anyway be safe!
