Up to 68 now, driver just walked by in shorts and a tshirt....in OH in the middle of December.

Just looked at this morning's weather map and it's 69 in Atlanta GA but only 19 in Dallas TX. The cold air is coming, and anyone in the warm sector of this storm system will soon be in for a surprise...

With this massive mixing of hot and cold weather fronts, we might see a few winter tornadoes too... strange times... I blame climate change...
Voyager1968 Thanks this. -
Agree on the whole post MD. Especially this part. I too feel this group are responsible, caring, quality drivers dedicated to doing it right.
On the rest, I also agree. Whether intentional or not, management has created a distinct division between office operations and drivers. In fact, I'll even go so far to say it's somewhat adversarial when it comes to getting the end job done. When seeking solutions to a problem, one should not have to deal with arguments and attitudes not focused solely to that end. Quick, clear, concise "accurate" facts are all we need.
The enviroment of "mistrust" is also a real issue for me. I mean, they give us expensive equipment, pay us to drive it and then don't trust us to do so properly.
Cap the speed? No trust to drive legally. Cap the power? No trust to not blow the thing up (and thus it won't do the job at hand well). Cut the idle off? No trust we won't do so only when needed. Driver facing cameras? No trust we know our own limits and won't push them too far.
The whole "one size fits all" mentality is not only seriously inefficiant, but frustrating to the good drivers that do it right. Drivers should be treated accordingly to their performance and track records. In short, go ahead and punish the screw ups but leave the rest of us alone. I mean, if I'm going to be treated just like the rif raf, where does that leave me to accel and be recognized for it?
Treating each according their individual performance allows both the cream to rise to the top and the rest to be weeded out. The bonus is, it also makes recognizing the difference MUCH easier.
