My brain is trying to kill me.

I'm too sleepy to drive, but only when I'm actually driving. Whenever I pull over to take a nap, I can't fall asleep. That's happened twice now. Very annoying.

Currently sitting at one of those service centers off the New Jersey Turnpike, with plans to take this load of spices and seasonings to a warehouse in Bayonne tomorrow morning.

I am crossing my fingers in hopes that they will just deadhead me home, but I expect that they'll send me someplace unpleasant to get to, like Hall's.

Speaking of unpleasant places to get to, I once allowed Google Maps to talk me into going through Baltimore via I-97, the Harbor Tunnel, and I-895. And the whole time I was doing so, the Qualcomm GPS was lit up like a Christmas tree telling me the route was restricted.

Now I have a brand new Garmin Dezl, which is made for truckers. And it has suggested before that I go down that same route. But because of the QC GPS, I'm a little paranoid.

Is there any reason to avoid I-97, the Harbor Tunnel, and I-895? (It DID seem like the tunnel didn't have a whole lotta clearance above the trailer...)

It's the height and width. That tunnel was used by us older drivers back before the trailers were 102" wide.

Mister JohnBoy...you are the epitome of old school trucking, and I salute you for it. Wish I woulda had you for a resource back in the early days of my career I sure woulda made fewer face-palm mistakes.

I hope all y'all Abileners fully appreciate and pay forward the spirit of this cat.

It's a legal route, unless you have haz-mat

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel is an interesting tunnel to go through. The opposing traffic is right next to you. Through Baltimore I use 695.
