Too bad you're not here on the yard. Supposedly there's so much freight. My fm called me while I was on my way out of NJ for the second time in two days and said I was to relay a load to breezewood, but here's the kicker, I didn't have the hours to get it there and I told him so. He said just go in a let Higgins know for sure once I got to the yard. So, that's what I did. And before any of you say anything, I tried very hard to be professional about it. Conversation went something like this...

Me...hey, Don, I only have 3.43 hours left on my 70 and for today so I can't take that load.
    Don...well, it's 3.45 hours to breezewood.
Me...in the best conditions, but traffic is snarled from Richmond up to and on 17. I just came from there. I won't make it.
Don...you are going to work tomorrow. So, you can just sit tonight and you'll get a different load that you will hate again tomorrow.
Me...(side note, I have home time for Fri & Sat) I never said I wasn't going to work tomorrow. I also didn't say I hate going to breezewood, I just don't have the time to do it. I asked Walter if there was some local stuff or a short run for tomorrow.
Don...I don't need a local driver. you need to take this load.
Me...no, I'm not taking the load. Take me off the ###### load. (Yep. Did drop the f bomb. Lost it a bit at the end.)

So, then I walked out and got back in my truck, sent a qualcomm msg that I didn't have the hours to do the load. Also talked to my fm. Higgins has had issues with me from day one. And I think it's time to speak with someone very high up on the food chain about his behavior towards me. I have not said one word about any load I have been given, especially when it's Higgins doing to giving. And believe me, he gives me some ####. Like a 600 mile run and 2 days to get it there because they won't let you in early. Or the OH crap, we've got a hall's load on the yard. So I have to run my ### off to make the delivery time. No time to even stop and use the bathroom. Or the fact that while others are getting long runs, I get short ones. And wrong place wrong time, don't even say it. I'm so sick of that saying.

So, bring it. What is the deal? Am I wrong to feel that the nastiness directed at me this evening was not justified? I kind of think that I should be treated with a little more respect and if I say I can't do something, I can't do it.

Rebelchick, it disturbs me that you are getting treated this way. I wouldn't think they would pinch you like that. Must be a high priority load? Wish there was someway I could help. All I can do is commiserate with you. Sitting here at the J in Northeast MD at the 100. Went over my 14 by 1 minute. All because I was led to believe the Pilot at the 93 in Perryville was a large truck stop according to my pocket guide truck stop guide when in fact it's a very small one. I left there with 8 minutes left and rushed over here. Time expired as I pulled into my spot. I wanted the Pilot because I got a couple of shower credits and the Deuce does not like being a smelly boy. By the way, I found out the hard way in Skippers VA, that LOVES shower credits only last 48 hours and then evaporates. Got a load of labels from Brooks and Whittle from Branford CT going to Sabra near the yard. Behind on scanning my paperwork. Just finished it now. Spent over a hundred bucks getting an inverter for my "New" Mack. Do I include it on one of my bill of lading or a separate form? Thanks in advance, gang.

I'm with Rebelchick. I've about had it. I put up with minor crap here and there, but it is starting to build up. I've also noticed a bit of attitude with certain people in dispatch. My current problem is this: I was given a BH load after I delivered at Hall's that didn't load until about 20 hrs after my delivery. I spent my 10 at Hall's and then headed to Brooklyn. I was there super early. Fortunately, they loaded me early and I hauled butt to Groveport. I made my delivery and what is my reward for being early??? I get to sit here for 24 hours waiting for my next load. Needless to say I'm a little pissed off. I've sent several messages, so far to no avail. This combined with a few other things has put me to the point where I'm about to tell them where they can park their shiny green truck.

Maybe they see you are low on your 70, and maybe they are having you do a reset. Did u do something like go over on your hrs snd now u got to sit.

Well I AM out of hours and 40 miles from the yard with a Sabra label load waiting for a city driver to rescue it. I was going to edit my time but I had already approved my logs so, no access to the logs. I think I get 8 hours back after midnight and the city guy is bringing me a trailer for delivery at 6am tomorrow in Philly. I'll leave after midnight and do it. Come visit me today at the 104 in Rutherglen it's the one on WEST 207. Not east 207
Cheers mates. BB, not headed back to the yard today like I thought.

Ok, here's another bit of advice, always approve your logs "after" you make sure you've looked them over just incase you need another 40 miles. I approve mine only when I'm bumping my 70. Which is about every 10 days or after a reset.

I'm pretty sure that pilot in Perryville has an additional parking lot around the corner. Don't be fooled by that tiny fuel island lot.
