Hope he doesn't get a reload out of the same place in SC. I had a 5am HPL that turned into a live load when I got there and I didn't leave until almost 2pm.

No, you definitely do not want to do a blind side back. If you call them, they will tell you to approach from the north. You can't see it from the street view, but the interior of the dock is curved to make sight side backing easier than blind side backing.Last edited: Feb 9, 2017

For those running in the Northeast, Stay Safe!!!
Finfn1372, 460/580, RebelChick and 2 others Thank this. -
Now that's a tight place. BH distributor in Scottsdale AZ. Gave me a headache! Tractor isn't straight, but trl is spot on!
Osiris, MidWest_MacDaddy, Crusader66 and 2 others Thank this. -
I really hate it when shipping clerks for major customers are misleading. Just tell me the truth! 5 hours is not 1 hour........
Made it out to long island with no issues until in the customers lot but was able to get the job done.
Nyc and rva are different in many respects. Today, dispite the snow, i feel like i made better time once i got onto 278 than on a normal day at similar times. I gues ppl here dont drive unnecesarily as much as they do in rva.
Got a reload tomorrow afternoon. Told dispatch i was gonna hunker down for the night due to forcasted snow totals 10 to 15 inchea on long island and wind speeds of 30 to 50 mph
Stopped snowing where i am so hopefully roads will be in good shape tomorrowCrusader66 and Gwh1184 Thank this. -
I've come to realize that being truthful to truck drivers is not a priority. The best way I have found to deal with this is to treat everything I am told in doing this job with a healthy dose of disdainMidWest_MacDaddy, Lonesome, Crusader66 and 1 other person Thank this.

The trailer is the important part!. You should see some of the jacked up positions I have docked in. A couple of them I get out and wonder how the hell I got so crossed up, but as long as the customer can get their stuff off the trailer, I consider it a job well done.Crusader66 Thanks this.

@Redtwin : So! How'd it go?

It's was a breeze and I have you to thank for posting your experience back then. I got there at 7:55 for an 8 pm appt. Plenty of parking on the street and space to setup for the back. I was unloaded, reloaded and hit the i90 onramp at 9:02pm.
Real friendly guys there too...right up to the point they laughed at me almost getting stuck because I was too fat to squeeze between the empty racks to hook in the straps. One of them jumped right in and did it for me so I can't sulk too much. He was very also very impressed with my signature, and said I should be a doctor. Second time I have been told that so maybe that will be my next career move.
Thanks again for the help.Lonesome Thanks this. -
Hey, I am parked at a loves...properly... in a designated spot. When I got here at 2:15am and saw all the trucks double, triple and quadruple parked all over the place, I nearly blew it off and thought tonight would be the night I popped my ramp cherry, but I said no, keen98 said there would be a spot at this time and he wouldn't steer me wrong as I know I have never I've never given him reason to. So I squeezed past the stacked up trucks and sure enough there was a spot. Nice easy angle back too.
Thanks againMidWest_MacDaddy and keen98 Thank this.
