Been at home for quite a while now. Finally post-surgery for my mother. The first time it was scheduled, the doctor got sick and had to cancel. The next time (2 days later), her system was all out of whack and they wouldn't do it. Third time's the charm, I guess! It's going to be a long and painful recovery process, I'm afraid. She did well with the surgery, but the recovery process is like 6 months. I cannot imagine the pain she's feeling right now. Thank goodness for those good pain meds! No weight on the foot for 6 weeks is going to be a challenge for both of us I'm sure. It's going to be difficult for me to balance work (gotta make money!) and being home to take care of everything.

It's amazing what the right combination of pain meds will do. Last night the nurse didn't get the ratio correct and she was in pain all night. This morning the doc came in and upped the Percocet pill and the dilaudid shot. The nerves in the foot are basically going crazy from all the work done. But, she was able to get up on the edge of the bed for a few minutes and has been able to old a conversation today.

This is what the foot looks like right now. Not pretty, but before the surgery, it was turned all the way to the right. I wish I had thought to take a before picture because I think he did an awesome job on a foot that was basically broken and completely misaligned! Doc said now it looks like 8 weeks in this contraption! She didn't like that at all!

Once again, I am parked in the tiny, cramped litttle craphole of a Pilot on the south side of Indy. Which means I get Indian food for dinner, so that's alright.

I finished the day with 1:57 on my 70-hour clock, and I'm only getting back 2:50 at midnight. So I have a sneaking suspicion I will be spending all of tomorrow here as well. Which means more Indian food, so that's alright.

Was talking to one of the other drivers at the Indian restaurant. He was complaining about how this tiny, cramped little craphole of a Pilot actually has a big problem with lot lizards. I've spend the night here twice, including a 34, and I've never seen one. I guess my habit of sitting in the back of my truck with the curtains closed is paying off. There could be all kinds of stuff going on outside this truck and I wouldn't know.
