I will have to brave the freightliner sized craters and lot lizards then as I loves me some Indian food.

This hospital leaves something to be desired. Usually we are in Sentara Obici, but this doctor practices out of Bon Secours Maryview. Great doctor. Nursing staff is horrible-most of the time. There have been a couple that have been delightful and have done what they are supposed to (and beyond). She was able to get up and into a chair for a couple of hours yesterday. No small feat since that contraption on her leg weighs a TON! And she isn't supposed to put any weight on it at all, or very little a few times. Hard to do, I think, for an elderly person with practically zero upper body strength.

All this has really got me thinking about choices I've made. I have to get myself back into a healthier lifestyle. My mother developed all her issues after the age of 50. Some are hereditary, some are because of lifestyle choices, both early on (smoking, alcohol addiction) and later (food addiction). I will be 50 this year (Lordy, where did the time go?) so I need to get off my you-know-what and try to reverse some of MY bad habits (both early and recent).

Hoping to find out today when she can be released and if our rehabilitation facility of choice has an available bed for her. Sadly there are not too many good ones around here (or anywhere, I'm sure, judging from the many stories of elder abuse I've seen). This particular facility comes highly recommended from several people I know who have had their family there and a couple professionals who are in the industry and know the down low on these places.

    MidWest_MacDaddy and Lonesome Thank this.

This turned out to be incorrect. Apparently I misread my clock and had more than 1:57 available on my 70. I had finished the driving day with 1:57 left on the clock, and I thought that was hitting my 70. But apparently not. So, long about 12:15pm yesterday, just as I was really getting into my "gonna be sitting here all day" groove, my Qualcomm beeped at me with a load assignment.

So with 8:42 left on my 70 (instead of the 5 or so I thought I had), I rolled out to the suburbs of Toledo where I was loaded up with a trailer full of empty beer cans.

My trailer is FULL, folks. Front to back, side to side, top to bottom, it is packed tight with empty beer cans. The whole load only weighs 5819 lbs. It's like driving deadhead. Thought that was kinda funny.

Desination is Williamsburg today at 5:00pm, but I called 'em and they said I could show up early if I wanted and if they weren't too busy, they'd work me in. So I'm gonna roll out here in about 10 minutes, which should put me on the DC outskirts around 10am and in Williamsburg by 2pm.

Hopefully they'll route me back to Richmond afterwards and let me take a 34 right there at home.

They have a lease program, but I was told it wasn't offered to new hires.
