Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Well actually we are involved with a perfect storm. We got the order to head back to Richmond. Real simple, redid the TO# showing Richmond to Mississauga to Richmond. In theory from Richmond's end it was perfect. In the real world it didn't work. You see, the Peace Bridge has a $10.75 toll that's electronic only, our ACE electronic clearance says to re enter and cross over at Lewiston which is 40+ miles into around and through Canada, which we are not allowed because we are basically impounded at customs. Our customs paperwork is all screwed up, Abilene does all the customs paperwork for all our freight going into Canada, except for Hewlett-Packard, they insist on doing their own. So for whatever reason, some bean counter at HP, can't seem to get the correct paperwork together for these 3 loads. Right now the only end result is getting the correct paperwork for delivery, which can take another day.

As far as being with other Abilene trucks? That's a whole nother story. One is a driver that I met on my very first load I did 4 years ago that gave me a few pointers at 2am in the morning at my first pick up, believe it or not, this is the first time since then I've seen him. He went into the customs building yesterday to find out what we need to do. He was told by one of the dudes in the office with a gun and badge, that they needed a copy of our ACE electronic paperwork in order for us to stay here another night. Real simple, and me always doing what I'm told, especially by someone that has shooting and arresting powers, does what he is told, went inside. He went over to the other truck and told the driver the dude with the gun and badge inside wants his paperwork, and then the moron jumped all over his A.Z.Z. All he was doing was passing a message that was simple and would make us not be under a spot light. After I was done inside, the pleasant dude with the gun and badge asked me to send the other driver in. I went out and knocked on his door, this lowlife degenerate, no driving steering wheel holding piece of poop, jumped all over me. At that point, after playing this game all day, my new found friend and I got into a heated yelling and screaming match with each other, loud enough to warrant the attention of a few people with guns and badges. After telling po po what was needed by my buddies inside with the guns and badges, they pleasantly walked the jerkoff inside. Me? I called into dispatch and raised holy hell with the first person that answered the phone about this jerk. Basically I told Tracy in Richmond that I did my part, got jumped for it, and explained to her we are visiting someone else's house and that because of all the guns and badges 2 of the 3 drivers are acting like visitors and one is being escorted around because of his attitude. I also told her that if I'm not out of here by 5pm today, I'll be calling an Uber from the duty free shop across the street to take me to the Buffalo airport that's 5 miles away, and will fly home. I also sent a QC message in saying that the minute I get back home, I will be leaving my passport behind. I can't fathom the idea that for the select few of us that have passports and don't mind running to Canada, something like this can happen with no resolution in sight. I'll use my passport for what it's intended for, vacation travel.
