Well, like I say, I don't mind people parking bobtail in an 18-wheeler slot if there isn't any bobtail parking otherwise. I've certainly parked bobtail in an 18-wheeler slot myself.

But when I do, my tractor is lined up with the other tractors beside me, as a courtesy to other truckers who may be looking for an empty spot.

Parking back in the spot gives the driver next to them more room when backing in or pulling in. I like my hood and would like to keep it.

Makes it worse when there is plenty of space in the car area that they could use.

And if a car parked in the truck area you would piss and moan.

I feel like there's a way to park far enough back to give the trucker next to you a little more room to pull out without parking so far back that the spot looks empty until you're right next to it.

If there were open truck spots still available I wouldn't care.

The car parking is never full and even if it was, last time I checked cars weren't governed by hours of service regulations so it's easy enough for them to move on and find other parking like maybe at one of the many places that prohibit trucks.

You can't have it both ways, what's fair is fair, you don't want them in your area stay out of theirs. If I'm on vacation or just going in the have dinner why should I have to "move on" because a truck is taking a spot designated for cars?

When it comes to bobtail parking, if I don't have a trailer, I'll try to park on an end cap, if there is one. I've never been bothered, and I feel better about not taking a full spot from a guy with a trailer who needs it.

    Tire popper anyone? 20170411_070608.jpg 20170411_070806.jpg

The only way out of this "pickle" is to back out of the facility crossing a street. Luckily for me I packed my extra eyes that I can attach to the back of the trailer.
