Don't work at McDonalds. Trust me. Maybe they're better in your state but not here.
I'd rather go back to being a janitor then do that again.Redtwin Thanks this. -
Pickup timeframes must work differently in NC. Been sitting at PCA four hours waiting for a DnH that was supposed to be ready at 8 am. Got another of us parked next to me who has been here a lot longer than that.

Do what I have done on occasion, send in a free form letting them know that your time is just as important as the next persons and that apparently they have no use for you, and you're leaving the shipper to go find a truck stop with facilities. End it by saying that to please get in touch with you when they are ready for you. I've done it 3 times and miraculously I got loaded shortly after.Crusader66, 4mer trucker, MidWest_MacDaddy and 3 others Thank this.

Yeah, that might work for you, but you have some serious clout. Us mere mortals could only hope for such results.
Lonesome, Redtwin, JohnBoy and 1 other person Thank this. -
I got out there not long after I posted, but I don't like how it went down. Went in to ask the guy about a restroom and a couple minutes after I got back to the truck one of the workers came out and knocked on my door. He hands me papers and a seal, I sign 'em, and start hooking my trailer. As I'm coming off the dock the other Abilene driver comes up to me and asks what I'm doing. Told him, "guy came out and gave me papers. He didn't knock on your door?" Apparently not. Seems to me they skipped him and gave me the first ready trailer.
MidWest_MacDaddy and JohnBoy Thank this. -
Try this next time, burn up the QC, professionally, if no answer, burn up the phone. After a while they'll get tired of the messages and calls. When I first started here I did just that. Many many years ago I told a dispatcher that if I wasn't loaded by Friday, I'd be check calling in the morning from the house, guess what? This was pre cell phone days, and Saturday morning I did just that. Needless to say, I was taken seriously from that moment on.
When I first started here we needed to come to an understanding, it took me sitting down with Alan and my fleet manager at the time for us all to get on the same page. It's simple, I was hired to deliver freight, not sit and not babysit freight. If they can't keep me rolling that's cool, get me back to Richmond and I'll rent a car and go home. I'll come back when freight picks up.Lonesome, MidWest_MacDaddy, Redtwin and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm going to need a few more years under my belt before I go lobbing hand grenades like that,
