Just watched a dude jack the crap outta his trailer.
Here at a Pilot in Beloit, WI. I was fueling. Another truck pulled in behind me to wait, and the driver got out of his truck and went inside.
Parking lot is small. Truck behind me has the back of his trailer pretty much at the entrance to the parking lot.
Another driver comes in, trying to get around him and into the fuel area. By this time I have exited the fuel isle and turned completely around in order to back into a spot facing the fuel isle. So the truck is just sitting there. The dude trying to get in starts honking, not realizing that the driver of this truck isn't in there.
And then apparently he forgot he was driving a truck. Because he pulled forward and then I saw the other truck jolt forward. He rammed the side of his trailer into the right rear corner of the other guy's trailer.
Other guy's trailer was none the worse for wear because it caught him on the frame. But the dude who ran into him?

So Abilene are using driver facing cams still?
-
Yes. And you can safely assume that we'll all be replaced with driverless trucks before Abilene changes that particular policy.MidWest_MacDaddy, chralb, Rocknroller4 and 2 others Thank this.

That will not go away here, even though it's an extremely hot topic in the industry. You either deal with it or move on to another company without them. Rest assured though, more and more companies are going in that direction. Some micromanage more than others. Cargo Transport is one that totally goes overboard with monitoring. Abilene is pretty much hands off, unless you trigger an event. Been here 4 years now and have not had one single phone call about anything on that little box attached to my windshield.MidWest_MacDaddy, chralb, runningman0661 and 2 others Thank this.

Do you go down and check for your name on the wall of shame?. I never got a call about a hard brake incident that generated a safety report. I only knew because I saw my name on that list.
I think they have the popcorn there to get drivers to go down by the bulletin board.

Nope. I figure if I've done something wrong, safety will let me know about it. Never even knew about the wall of shame.Redtwin Thanks this.
