Outward cameras are a great idea. Just don't understand why the need to have one watching the driver.

Wegman's went off without a hitch, less than an hour to get unloaded at both DCs. There was an Abilene truck at Rochester that was in a dock when I got there and still hadn't moved when I left. Hope they weren't having a chralb moment.
The great start to the day resulted in a broker load at a salt place in Watkins Glen. What a cluster this place is. One lane road in and out with a blind corner in the middle so you can't see if anyone is already on the road. There is a sign up saying drivers should announce that they are on the road on the CB, but as this is 2017 not 1977 I don't fool with that old fashioned technology. Luckily for everyone else the road was clear.
Oh and par for the course I am now here over 4hrs and only now got in a dock. Pretty sure they are waiting until just before they close to load me that way they will be long gone if I happen to be over gross on the on-site scale.
45K (says the broker) in a reefer, what could possibly go wrong?. -

The cameras have little sensors that know when you've covered them up. It'll send an alert to the 3rd-party company that runs the cameras, and they'll check to see why there's an alert and discover that, lo and behold, some driver has put his or her baseball cap over the camera in order to conceal their activities.
And sure enough, there was this one driver who just really had a bug up his backside about the camera, so he would always cover up the camera. And, thus, he always generated multiple alerts every day he drove. Which resulted in the 3rd-party company who runs the cameras to check out why he was generating so many alerts, which resulted in them calling our safety department and informing them that one of their drivers continually covered up his camera, which resulted in our safety department calling the driver and telling him to Knock It Off Or Else(tm).
The driver apparently didn't like the way our safety department said "Or Else(tm)", so he uncovered the camera. But by this time everybody was curious as to what he was trying to conceal.
Turns out, the dude hated wearing his seat belt and never wore it. So he covered up the camera so nobody would know he was riding dirty. All of this resulted in yet another call from Safety to the driver, instructing him to Wear His Seat Belt Or Else(tm).
The funny thing is: If he'd never covered up his camera, he might've gotten away with it. -
MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

So that 45k load in a reefer?. Only 2k over gross, broker said I should be OK, he wouldn't steer me wrong, would he?.
When does that blitz start?. Maybe I can think light thoughts when I roll through the scales.
