Heavy or empty, I've never taken 64 from Richmond to get to Roanoke or anywhere south of that on 81 or the inverse coming the other way. Touches back to that discussion about faster vs. shorter but it just doesn't make sense to me either way to bother with C-ville/Afton if you don't need to. Helps that I don't roll without legal weights.

Going down the east side of Afton with a full load is almost as much fun as deadheading north on the West Virginia turnpike.

 

Well, it was the fastest and shortest route.

 

I was talking about the other way around, Wytheville to Richmond in this particular instance. Personally, I like driving 460--most of the time. But if it's heavy, I sometimes stick to the big road. Less stop/go and rocking back and forth than 460. A lot of drivers here ALWAYS take the big road for that circuit because they dislike 460. Not much is said to anyone about it, in my experience. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of another, I guess.

 

Naaaaa ... if that where the case, nobody would wave to me.

Puddle in the passenger floorpan seems to hinting my evaporator drain is plugged. Gonna be a good day, Tater.
