Did the shop leave a new cabin filter in the cab after your PM?. They always leave one in mine, not sure if it's because they don't change it for the PM or if it's an extra filter because they need to be changed at shorter intervals than the PM.

    Keep forgetting to ask.

They left one in my last tractor every time I put it in for something. Once I had about five I took 'em all back asked what they were for. Guy told me they were for the bunk blower.

That's correct. The bunk blower has one also.

Thanks RC. Not that it wouldn't be good to have halogen bulbs but the problem is in the lenses. Particularly the low beams. They are so fogged up that even better bulbs aren't going to help much. Although I have thought of trying and I appreciate the tip on the Walmart deal. ;)

The high beams are not too bad but I'm too considerate to run around with my high beams on. Especially when it prompts those drivers out there with headlights that can melt road signs to flip theirs at me. Then I'm really up the creek for seeing anything for the next few miles. Lol

Does Abilene have a paint shop? If so, ask the painter to wheel out your headlights using rubbing compound and a Makita wheel.

It's not the plastic outer covers. I've already polished them clear myself. It's the actual light bulb lenses under that. But yes, we do have body & paint shop. Shame they won't fix up all the damage on my rig that I inherited when assigned to me. She could be real pretty.

The filter they leave for me is for the cab. I had to look up the part number on Google to figure out where it went. On the freightliner the filter is accessed under the hood up by the windshield which means climbing up on the steer tire to reach it.

I have 3 extra in my Volvo. The cab and bunk filters are the same and I change them pretty regularly when needed.

    Redtwin Thanks this.

I need some advice from one of my fellow truck drivers. Friday was my third week since leaving the house. It was also my threshold for how much pain and suffering I can endure. My question is twofold, one, how do you handle staying out that long, and two, at what point do you snap?

It's all in your head. My truck is my home, I feel comfortable in it, therefore I feel no need to get out of it. Longest I have stayed out was 4 months and to date, the only instances where I have taken hometime are those where I needed to take care of stuff I couldnt do on the road, such as renew license, jury duty etc.

Of course being single with no kids and not having a nice house to go home to helps. There's a clue in there somewhere. ;)

Dealing with brokers is the only thing that makes me feel like snapping. Lounging in my bunk, on the net, watching TV or on the Playstation is enjoyable and is pretty much what I would do anyway if I didn't live in a truck.

    ExtremeUnction and JohnBoy Thank this.
