To someone with ADD, or ADHD, there is no such thing as routine. Can't tell how many times I have walked out of the house and driven off without, keys, wallet, phone, paperwork, clothes, you name it. I was fired once because I forgot to give some paperwork to an account. I had it in my hand, spoke to the warehouseman for close to half an hour, and then drove off, paper in hand! Lol

I'm at my first drop. I checked in, got my door assignment, backed in, got my bills signed then was told they will unload their 1/2 a trailer of freight at 6am. That's fine, my next drop is 3 miles from here. I should be done by 8:30 and at the walmart across from my last drop doing the restocking thing.

KH you must have missed his earlier post. Tim has disappeared and did not answer texts phonecalls or anything. Safety called no answer so Abilene booted him. Apparently too many at home issues. Speculating. Anyway, thats the story. And I'm sticking to it.

In my opinion the only way to succeed at trucking is to have a good support system.

Agreed, Abilene has a very good support system, but I don't think marriage counseling is part of it, as is being a mature young adult.

I'll add that truckers should have a good support system at home as well. A boss once told me "leave your problems at home. They'll be there when you leave work." In this instance hes right. I've noticed over the years it takes a special breed to succeed at OTR trucking. One thing I see to often is people give up. A fellow coworker told me "When theres a will theres a way." If you get fired, move on but never give it up be it local or OTR.

I'm never giving up. Got a callback today from Cargo Transporters from Claremont NC. Spoke with Rebecca. She is gonna check with the safety guy there about my incidents which I disclosed on my application. We'll see if the truth sets me free. She said I would have to do the eight week trainee thing since I only had six weeks solo and I naturally agreed. It can only benefit me I told her. Hopefully I will get this chance. Another really good company like Abilene, and CSA scores off the charts across the board. Will keep you posted. DEUCES.
