Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

That nine miles or so can often take an hour or more. The trucks were on both sides, but I've noticed trucks in other areas as well, sometimes in the middle of the day.

 

Maybe taking a 30?
Possibly took much longer than they planned on getting thru the area

 

They are most likely off duty getting their 30 min break out of the way rather than risk a log violation because they couldn't stop in a better location due to traffic.

 

On 495? Lol

 

The thing to ponder is which is worse, a log violation or traffic violation for parking on the shoulder?.

 

I usually default to 301 or the east side of dc using the woodrow wilson bridge. Google maps helps decide which way for me. 301 or either side of dc.

Going on the east side really wide shoulders on express lanes. And at northern end of express lanes there is parkinv for a couple trucks accessible from local lanes.

 

Can trucks use the express lanes?. Don't recall ever seeing trucks there...or no trucks signs. I just err on the side of caution and stay out.

Woodrow Wilson bridge is a new one on me. I mean I have seen it, but have never been over it. Another case of being cautious as GPS never routes me on it.
