If I'm not mistaken (and I could be as I haven't had the [dis] pleasure of heading up there in a minute), the guard shack is on the other side of the bldg. and they take your paperwork. Just park on the street.

Ok, so this is the 2nd trailer that I have picked up with this on the door. Guess the driver is/was really angry at people texting and driving. I get it, but calling people stupid and idiots (that was the only word I could reach to erase!) isn't going to do anything but irritate folks. The last one had more on the other door, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. I had one of the shop guys help me wash that off since the 1st one was at the yard.

Don't believe the bull pin opens up till midnight on Sunday.
Hometime over will be heading out in morning. -
Anyone know if I can safely take Flushing from the BH plant east to 495? Going back to 278 and making that right-hander looks miiiiighty tight. If they ever release my trailer I gotta head darn near to the east shore of Long Island.

Yes you can go to 495 that way. Ull go under a bridge that doesnt have MUCH extra room but take it easy and youll be fine. Ull see the signs for 495.
Barn Door Bill Thanks this. -
Back on the road after a week off. First assignment: Take a load to Givens and get a load from them to Hyster-Yale in Berea, KY.
Not a problem. I have an irrational fondness for load assignments to Hyster-Yale in Berea, because that was my very first solo load assignment coming out of training.
Time is tight, though. Load assignment gives me an appointment time of 2:00pm. And it was almost noon by the time I got in the truck and ready to go.
Off I go to find the trailer. Boom, there it is, back of the yard near the body shop. Hook up and do my pretrip.
Flat tire. Big crack in the sidewall.
Take it to the shop to get it fixed. Took 'em nearly an hour and a half. Dunno why. Rolled in to Givens at 3:15. They've unloaded me, but are now loading me. And it's 5:07pm and they close at 5:00pm. So I figure I shouldn't be here too much longer because they probably want to go home.
Appointment in KY at 4:00pm tomorrow. Should make it with plenty of time to spare. -
Barn Door Bill and Vic Firth Thank this.

It is, but this ain't work.
Even on the worst days I have had here I think to myself how much easier and better I have it now than at my previous job.
Not saying there won't come a day where I find it hard to get back in the truck, but that day has yet to come. -
Redtwin Thanks this.
