I had 5 weeks driving under my belt when I got sent into Brooklyn. I missed the turn for the recommended route in and things went downhill rapidly from there.Knucklehead and BigBob410 Thank this.

Usually when I find myself asking that question, the answer is invariably "New Jersey".

I'm a long way away from NJ, but the place had an air of New Jersey about itBigBob410 Thanks this.

Hopefully get some good training there. Forgot they don't have APUs but no biggie. I've looked at Navajo Express but would prefer Abilene. Hope to get some loads to South Carolina as it's a state I'm considering moving to.

We go through SC a lot, i95 and i85 being the main routes through there. Lack of APU will only be apparent when the temp is below 65 as the trucks won't idle then.Rocknroller4 Thanks this.

In other news, I am on my first trip west of Arkansas since April. I have a Hill-Phoenix load being delivered to Santa Clara.
The load assignment came with instructions to stage at a store called Lucky's on a nearby cross street. Based on a quick look at Google Maps, Lucky's appears to be a liquor store. Further investigation suggests that this is going to be an obnoxious delivery. The delivery location is a grocery store under construction inside an apartment building. The parking lot is therefore an apartment complex parking lot, and does not look particularly truck friendly. In fact, the delivery instructions that came with the load assignment say that only one truck is allowed in the parking lot at a time, and additional trucks could get ticketed.
Should be a fun one. Will keep you posted as events warrant.Last edited: Sep 3, 2017

Good luck with that, hopefully they have enough crew on site to help with backing and traffic control.ExtremeUnction Thanks this.

They have built stores like that all over the D.C. area. Apartment buildings with store on the ground level and a shared loading dock usually designed for a single axle tractor and a 35-40' trailer.
