Another first for me at Abilene this past week. Pulling a non-Abilene trailer, every so often I would look in the mirror while driving and see an odd sight and once at a rest area I was walking back to the parking lot and I had the thought "where's my truck?" When I didn't see Abilene in the sea of trailers.

Truth be told, I felt a little bit dirty.

We made through safely. Thanks for asking brother! No power, but that will be short lived. House is running on generator, putting everything back in order. It was a little hairy yesterday afternoon, but we did it.

It seems to be hit or miss with the power. I have family spread across south Florida. Homestead which was closest to the eye didn't lose power, Pembroke Pines lost power yesterday and got it back at 2pm. Plantation, Sunrise and Delray are still out and Royal Palm Beach (farthest from the eye) got theirs back around noon.

I was supposed to be home tomorrow, but until freight starts heading back that way I don't know when I will be getting down there.

Irma didn't seem as crazy as they were making it out to be. Still a bad storm but not the storm of the century.

It was a bad hurricane but FL got lucky in that in weakened before it hit and passed over the relatively low population density Keys which had a mandatory evacuation order. Had it hit Miami or Broward County at full intensity the death toll would have been much higher
