This was not a good way to wake up this morning:
Parked for the night at the TA in Commerce, GA. I shoulda known it was gonna be trouble because the last time I was here, I got stuck for about 45 minutes trying to park. It's a tight little parking lot built for cabovers and 48' trailers.
Was sound asleep, long about 5:15am, when the truck started shaking like nobody's business. Jumped out of the top bunk in my skivvies in time to see a truck pulling away. He was the only truck in motion, so the only possible source of the shaking.
He either didn't know he'd hit me, or was hoping to get away before anybody noticed, because he wasn't stopping. Not having much in the way of alternatives, I jumped into the driver's seat wearing only my tighty-whities and started chasing him out of the parking lot. Fortunately he stopped after I honked the horn at him a few times, and after I put on some clothes, we set about getting all the paperwork taken care of.
And now I'm sitting here waiting to see if they'll repair this before putting me out on the road. I assume they will, because that doesn't look safe at all. But they may surprise me.Redtwin Thanks this. -
Betcha a buck someone suggests just unbolting it and you carry it with you until you get back to Richmond.

I guess I'll put it in the trailer? I got freight back there, though. Five of those Honda 4-wheel utility dune buggy things going to Brookhaven, MS. -
philsfan, Redtwin and ExtremeUnction Thank this.

I would be looking for one of those concrete barricades to "ease" it back into place.
If it gets removed, it gets dumpstered. That's where it's going to wind up as soon as you get it back to Richmond anyway.Sustanon, Lonesome, ExtremeUnction and 2 others Thank this. -
I was told to bring the deer guard back if they detached it. Since they did not detach it, and since I was not told to bring back part of a deer guard, I left the bit they cut off back at the TA shop.
I figure if HQ really wants it for some reason, they can have the TA Fedex it to 'em.Redtwin Thanks this. -
