5:30pm.
Sat in the dock district until after 2:00.
While I was waiting, dispatch put a load assignment on me. Which I couldn't make.
So they put a different load assignment on me. Which I also couldn't make. They actually called me for the 2nd one. "How close are you to the shipper?" "Man, I am still docked for the load assignment I haven't finished yet, and they haven't even *started* unloading me."
Like, hello, McFly? There's a reason I haven't sent in an end trip for that TO# yet.

Got me a big 700 miler to run thru the weekend.

Sitting at the loves in Bidwell, waiting to get 5 trl tires put on,because some steering wheel holder decided it wasn't there problem.
Sorry it's depressing.Redtwin Thanks this. -
Hang in there man, I try not to think about the mileage of the individual loads and just remind myself that the paycheck is every 2 weeks and that's the reason we do this.
When those paychecks stop making it worthwhile then it's time for a change.JohnBoy Thanks this. -
I complained to my company about 2 subpar weeks out of three. The result; a 3300 mile 6 day week. Both times I got home it was at noon. That was Tuesday and today. Pretty good week.

Ouch @Finfn1372 hope it turns around soon. Im thinkin last week was just rough all around.
We came in sunday, told take a reset. Come in monday, by midday they find us a 1100 mile run to missouri due tuesday afternoon. Sat from tuesday afternoon till wednesday morning, then got a return run back thursday evening for hometime.
This week for us has been good. Roll out monday with hill phoenix for texas tuesday, pickup in texas headed to socal. Dropped that at colton yard wednesday. Went to walmart to pickup a preloaded trl. Not loaded. So live load. In and out in 3 hrs time (counting my blessings!) Currently sitting in tennessee due in the morning.
Had my 1st random level 1 in texas this week on a random US highway. They had their mobie scales and equipment setup on a side access road.
Nice trooper. Chatted about work. Funny how things are pretty similar. A few are better here and a few are better there. Its always nice to confirm my opinion that the job is the job.
Wife is doing great. Gaining more confidence in her abilities. Dog seems to have adjusted well.
Hopefully we will have something saturday night or sunday morning to roll with.Barn Door Bill, Redtwin, ExtremeUnction and 4 others Thank this. -

Just got my first assignment to haul a 48' trailer. I bet that's gonna feel weird.
Quiet around here these days. I was home with the kids for a nice 4-day weekend, so that was groovy. Hope you folks had a good weekend as well.Redtwin Thanks this. -
I spent most of my weekend at the yard doing a reset. Have you pulled one of those tail lift trailers yet?. Sure is nice not having that extra length. I spent about 20mins trying to figure out how to work the lift gate though. I called the shop looking for assistance but no-one there knew how to work it either.ExtremeUnction Thanks this.
