Spent the night at BH Groveport. Dropped off a load last night that wasn't due until this morning, but I got a message on the QC yesterday telling me to deliver ASAP. I was already in the process of doing that anyways, with every intention of finishing yesterday's driving day at BH Groveport, so that worked out pretty well.
When 9:00am rolled around and I hadn't been given a new load assignment, I sent 'em a QC message to remind them of my existence.
When 11:00am rolled around and I hadn't been given a new load assignment, I sent 'em another QC message informing them that, while BH Groveport is lovely this time of year, I felt that we'd grown apart and it was time for me to move on. So if they could get me rolling, that would be swell.
A few minutes later, I got a load assignment. So that worked.
Load assignment: Grab an empty reefer out of BH and take it to Crawfordsville, IN for an 11:00pm live load. No problem. I will leave early, hit the Pilot on the south side of Indy for some chicken tikki masala from the Indian restaurant across the street, and then roll out in time for my 11:00pm appointment tonight.
Rolled onto the BH yard and talked to a yard jockey to find an empty. He pointed at a trailer waaaay down at the very end of the row where we drop the trailers. One of our LP/OO drivers had just unhooked from it before I talked to the yard jockey. He told the yard jockey he didn't want that trailer and wanted another one instead.
I figured it had a flat tire. I also figured that it's probably been here god knows how long, with every driver refusing it the way this other driver did. And I had literally seven whole standard Earth hours before I absolutely had to leave.
So I hooked up to the trailer and did my pre-trip inspection. Sure enough, right front outer tire was totally flat. Flat enough to be completely off the bead. Gave breakdown a call. They sent out a truck. He's changing the tire now. And this trailer will finally roll again after who knows how long.

Her trailer skirts make her look like Frankenstein, though. Both skirts have stitching all along the length holding together a piece which had obviously broken off.MACK E-6 Thanks this. -

On my way to Seattle for Monday with 2 stops and a new Trainee. Had a breakdown in front of the shop in Richmond yesterday. The clutch actuator went bad and wouldn’t go into gear. It was still under warranty so KW sent a mechanic down to replace the part. Finally left out at 5pm last night. Just coming into KCMO.
