How much do we get paid for detention from Abilene? Is it $20 after the two hours?

It’s never the same two requests in a row. It can be anywhere from $16-$25 per hour. It depends on the mood they are in.

Wow! And how much detention can you claim? Is it true that after 8 hours or n more they just rounded to VB an fix even $120 and no VB more than that?

Pulled out of the yard yesterday in my personal vehicle to take my ten at the house. Jammed the brakes just before entering the roadway and my hand shot towards the dash to switch to 'Driving' status.
    In my car.
    I think I need a vacation. :(

The most detention I’ve ever got was $90.
The most layover I’ve got was $150 as a solo for one day and $600 as a trainer for 34 hours when I was forced to take a reset with a Trainee.

Lonesome, Redtwin and Silverdriver Thank this.

I think once the detention reaches the layover amount, then you just get layover. As JB said, the detention is highly variable. I've even called payroll and asked them what the rate was and they said they didn't know, they just pay out what they are told to.

If you have a reasonable claim, there's no reason not to claim them. There's no guarantee that they'll actually pay you for all the hours you claim, but you'll definitely not get paid for hours you don't claim.

My job is to haul freight. I can't do that if I'm sitting around at a warehouse with my thumb up my keister. So I'm gonna claim whatever detention I think I'm owed and let HQ sort it out. Seems like an equitable arrangement to me.

Silverdriver, Lonesome and Redtwin Thank this.

Or install a Qualcomm in your car. :D

I'm always reaching for the engine brakes to slowdown when I'm in a car.

Friend and Barn Door Bill Thank this.
